I'm not a crypto OG, but I'm definitely a veteran that has seen some cycles, and pretty much everyone that I know in real life knows that I'm that crypto bozo. That comes with bagagge. When crypto hits cycle lows I get asked tongue in cheek how's crypto doing?, and when we hit ATHs everyone is asking me about everything crypto.
The longer you are in crypto the more locked in you are and that's a good thing.

Don't get me wrong, I still help people get onboarded if they are my friends or if they have shown real interest in the past, and they are willing to pay for my time, but the days of spending hours onboarding someone to crypto/hive to see them fade after a few weeks and then coming back a couple years later expecting another masterclass are gone.
I don't have the energy or motivation, and the amount of material out there online is very good for me to waste precious time that I can spend making money. Besides, if you personally onboard someone, you become their mentor and they basically text you every week asking something new, because it's easier to ask than to research, so no, I'm out.
The game plan for this cycle is to 100% focus on myself, my portfolio, my gains and my future.

It's tough trying to help people, and I get it if you have no time and you see the same cycles (with people) happening over and over, but I think it's still important to the crypto community as a whole to be welcoming and helpful. Just pick your battles, which I guess in essence is what you're saying. A lot of my friends are total non crypto people and I just naturally don't get into conversations about it with them, others who are into it or are interested I talk about it and have conversations. I have a friend who I met recently that I really get along with well, we were chatting the other day and it turns out he is super into crypto, like way more than me, like he's a whale in a few communities, and he made all kinds of time for my questions, was legitimately stoked to hear me interested and wanted to help. I really appreciated that, and I think that attitude can be super helpful, but again, I get it if it's just become too much for you, I think that's fair to be honest.
