What are the systems that he's developed to be able to actually learn considering that his short term memory has been so badly impaired? Notetaking. So if he doesn't remember, he goes back and looks at his notes. And remember, his hippocampus isn't removed. So it's not like a complete inability to remember things. And it's also some things are harder than others. So like spatial information is completely gone. Like, does that also mean that in abstract terms, he can't distinguish positioning? For example, does he know that Boston is north of New York? Right. I remember you saying that was a problem for you.
