When President Trump made those unfortunate remarks about how there were good people on both sides in Charlottesville during that confrontation between white nationalists and racists and people who wanted to take down that statue in the park, Tim Scott was offended, and he was very public about how offended he was. And he criticized the president pretty shrilly on TV and in a podcast. The White House invited him to meet with Trump. He thought about not going, but he said, you know, the president calls you can't. He expected a confrontation.
