RE: Cutting the 30% and gaining it all

I agree with your assessment on all the major points (that alone should cause you some pause to reflect).

I really think there will be multiple players in the blockchain sphere as we go onward. I know a group (of maybe 10,000) that would love the freedom and reach of Hive but Hive isn't anywhere near ready for them. They are still successfully using a forum system with all it's inherent problems.

I honestly can't decide which would be better in their case. Migrate to Hive (I'd love to see that frankly) with it's current clunkiness for new users or to float their own coin and chain. SMTs, useable SMTs would have a huge impact in that.

To my point: Is decentralized a multitude of platforms or a few survivors? I have no real good answer. But you have to admit, it's a pretty damn good question...

Thanks. I always appreciate your wisdom.

I think there has to be, the competition will drive innovation, something that is needed now.

There was a basic form on Steem, but the project seemingly died quietly.

While at the moment we are generally a platform, I see Hive as protocol, like the http protocols of the net. It can be built upon in many ways both directly and indirectly as well as leveraged partly (for example just the token layer). platforms could be built on it or individual applications. At its core, it is just a content delivery system and it doesn't much care what kind of content it is. There is a long way to go though.
