This past Saturday my wife and I were hanging out at home watching some TV when she came across a very interesting post in her Facebook feed.
I would venture to guess several people on here have come across a similar post in the past month or so. In fact, I know you have, because there have been a handful of posts on Leo talking about this very topic.
One of my wife's old friends had just taken the dive into Cryptocurrency and was on Facebook shouting to the rafters how she can't believe she didn't do this sooner and how everyone else is going to be so sorry they didn't jump on board.
I had to laugh a little when I found out that she was investing in ETH. She is going to be in for a rude awakening when she tries to make a transaction or exit and the gas fees are so high that she starts to wonder where all of her money went.
Do you remember those days of unbridled excitement at the potential of cryptocurrency? Don't get me wrong, I am still excited about blockchain and cryptocurrency, but it is for totally different reasons now than it was before.
What was once a giddy excitement at the thought of getting rich quick, is now a profound excitement at the shear possibility and potential of blockchain.
Do I stand to make some money in cryptocurrency? Probably. Will I become rich from it? Doubtful. I guess a lot of that is pretty relative. What does equate to much for us here in the states could be a big deal to someone in Africa or Central/South America.
I am not friends with this person myself, so part of me wanted my wife to tell them about Leo Finance or Hive. I didn't want to put my wife in that position though, so I just had her give me updates through the rest of the weekend as she posted.
The funniest one was on Sunday morning when she was talking about how she made $80 bucks just by walking through the local drug store. Apparently she has the funds staked somehow and she is brining in some multiplier rewards. She posted a picture, but I couldn't tell the platform she was using. My initial thought had been she was just using Paypal since it is the most accessible method to most people these days.
Anyway, have you been seeing a lot of these posts lately? The "guys, you really need to check out this whole cryptocurrency thing". Are you the one that is posting them? Are you trying to guide them when you see those posts or are you just letting them learn the hard way like we had to?
I have posted some stuff on my Facebook feed in the past, but it usually falls on deaf ears. With the sudden boom maybe things will be different now. I might throw one of my Coinbase earn links out the and see if I get any takers.

I would normally directed friends that are interested in crypto to Hive. Telling them it is a good community to learn more before putting any money in. I have only ever put €100 into crypto all the rest is from what Hive has awarded me. In that way I don't have anything to lose and much to gain. I think everyone needs to choose their own journey and I would not advice anyone to travel with me incase we crash.

Haha, that is probably some great advice! I have invested a little here and there, but it has never been more than I was comfortable losing. I could just as easily take it to a casino or track and lose it just the same. I actually feel like this is a safer way to spend it.

First off, there are only about 3 people that can summon me to fb. I feel like I can't dump the chump until I have convinced a precious few people to move to HIve. So I'm not that guy and I'm probably not going to read that post.
You might want to work a three legged deal. Your friend could really immerse herself deeper in ETH if she just bought some crypto kitties. I think she should buy about 13 of them, actually. I'd pay a handsome commission for offloading the little bastages and you could help your friend discover the joys of gas fees. Sigh.
I'm a fan of hive, I really like the idea and the concept. I really wish I could figure out a way to onboard friends without the hive learning curve. Just skip right to posting and chatting in discord.
Yeah, that would be pretty cool. The onboarding thing. I think she is playing some kind of game because she was talking about being level six today.
Haha we all have to start somewhere, I definitely learned through the School of Hard Knocks!

It's very rare for anyone I know to talk about crypto. I worked with a guy who bought a few Bitcoin that he was hanging onto. I hope those look after him when he needs them. People know I am into it, but I get few questions about it. There's not that much coverage in mainstream media. We may think it's massive, but that's only really in the crypto 'bubble'.
Yeah, that is a good point. I think the fact that this person was talking about it is a hint of what might be coming. I hope anyway. I don't have too many friends I talk about it with either. There are actually probably a lot of people I work with that would be surprised to find out how involved with it I am.

If I was in the workplace, it might happen but with all this COVID shit about I rarely interact outside my family, actually, 'we are not allowed too', so no.. nobody has said anything yet.
I guess it will come, and I will be laughing inside!
Yeah, we haven't been interacting with anyone too much either.

The frenzy is starting. You should have your wife drop some info about Leofinance and Hive.
Now the question is why is your wife still messing with facebook? lol

I created an account for her on Hive. She posted for a while. It's just not her cup of tea. I get it. These platforms will never replaced Facebook. They aren't robust enough. Even if they were, Facebook already has cornered the market. I don't really seem them as competing platforms.

No they arent competing in the sense that Hive can replace Facebook.
The challenge is that people keep feeding Facebook and other centralized entities.
