Week 05 Results | 12W-9L-4P | +0.302 Units Profit

This is a weekly overview of my personal sports betting/trading results on teams from the Belgian Jupiler League documenting my journey toward long-term profit with some insights on my overall approach.

Week 5 went a bit better as I managed to make some profit but I still have a long way to go and I can't say I really belief there has been much of an edge. Some bets have been ok, others not while good luck seems to be equal to back luck right now. For now, I will just continue my rather cautious way and see where it all goes. I am thinking of switching up my way ot taking bets a bit caring a bit less about 'value' trying to be the hero taking uncomfortable bets and a bit more focus on winners even if I think the line is not off that much. There have been multiple of these matches where I held off witch turned out in easy winners. Off course there is a lot of bias to this but still.

I also have been way to 'safe' on the odds mostly to try and reduce the variance but this rarely is a good idea. Most of the time there is just a bigger edge in higher odds selection so that is also something I'm looking to improve going forward.

Just 2 Pre-Game bets in the previews this week which ended up in a winner and half a winner so I'm pretty pleased with those.

Regular Season 2023-2024 Personal Betting Chart

I'm still in survival mode trying to make sure I don't dig a hole that is too deep at the start of the season so stakes have been reduced along with the number of bets until I regain some confidence and the belief that there actually is an edge on the market. Right now getting to a point where I comfortably stake 8-10 units a week is the last thing on my mind.
