Let us all be honest if this was a business plan it would be tossed out so why is this proposal acceptable as it stands? I get the idea that there is no defined budgets per item listed and this will be a make it up as we go a long and it just simply too wishy washy with no information. This is a very bad look and we need to do better.
I was just reading the Value Plan Q1 2025 Proposal and 2025 being a New Year there is no change and it looks like we are going forward with the same old same old systems in place. Where is the value and where is the plan because I do not see any. There is something fundamentally wrong if myself being a HIVER who loves this place cannot vote on the marketing proposal. I have ideas mulling around in my head and why writing these down is a better way of me trying to say things so please read until the end and then please comment. This is an honest opinion and one that is more about trying to be constructive so if anyone gets their backs up they should not as this is about discussing this with the HIVE community and not just moving forward when we all know this is wrong. I wrote this post as I could not say exactly as I thought in the comment and need to do this justice.
Asking for 10 000 HBD per day or realistically 32 258 HIVE per day that will hit the exchanges at the current price of $0.31c each. Personally I would rather see 32K HIVE daily being sent to null and burned than going into projects that have no accountability and transparency.
As a community we can do far better and I kind of find this embarrassing knowing that no one really knows how much abuse is going down. The problem is if there are no key performance indicators required for each budgetary spend with set goals that need to be set to justify the spend. HIVE is not a charity and this has to benefit HIVE and if there is no benefit then it should not even be considered.
I know we do the borehole wells in Ghana which is a great "charity" initiative but where is the real benefit to HIVE. Yes you can promote HIVE is helping out in Africa but seriously if we were getting the whole village signing up to HIVE I see no point. If they do not have water so maybe they have no electricity so maybe the bare minimum internet coverage and this is my point why are we sending HIVE on this?
Thee is a big difference where and how we spend the funds as we are not really getting anywhere with what has been done so far. We must stop kidding ourselves and the only item @valueplan does that I agree with is the stuff @crimsonclad does. At least she is promoting HIVE and getting the message across at targeted events.
Personally we should rip the band aid off and speak up coming together as a community and not keeping quiet as this changes nothing. We need to have constructive ideas and not just negativity when discussing the issues that many of us find so wrong.
What I have seen thus far is there is a take mentality with no accountability and this is why the simple basics like reporting on each event keeping everyone informed and up to date which has basically been non existent. This should be the bare minimum and agreed upon before funding is signed off. receipts for items over a certain cost threshold should also be supplied. Are there others from HIVE attending the event and are they from the place where the event is held because that would be fair. Are there people travelling and requiring accommodation and expenses because this is where I see red flags with certain individuals thinking they are professional promoters for HIVE.
My Two Cents Of Where My Thinking Is
Has anyone looked at marketing HIVE properly using professionals because looking at a budget of $10K per day that is if replicated in the remaining 9 months is a $3.6 Million budget. I say this as that is a big budget that if we dumped 90% of everything else maybe this would give us a chance. Another thought is if we sell the HBD for HIVE/convert/swap at this price and accumulated a massive HIVE nest egg and sold the HIVE for USD later once he price rises we could be talking many more millions as an advertising budget and getting the right professional people to do this on our behalf and no one involved with HIVE so there are no accusations later down the line. This seems more sensible and more logical and why we should rather wait and place a hold on this for now.
Again this is no a dig at @valueplan, but I cannot honestly vote on their proposal as it stands and would suggest everyone reads it and gives their thoughts so at least everyone is thinking about this and not just the people of valueplan.
Did it get instantly approved? I won't be voting on it. People need to remember to upvote the return proposal and knock this trash out of the running.
Only came out today and it better not get instantly approved or we have a serious problem.
You know it will. All it takes is one yes from one of the big accounts...
Not if we vote the Return Proposal. There's enough stake opposed to it if we actually vote our conscience.
I’m really worried these initiatives are about milking Hive rather than benefiting Hive.
That budget would be better spent on attracting content creators and active users, using digital marketing it would be real-time transparent, and would likely be cheaper too.
We all think the same way and this is not benefitting HIVE. We need marketing desperately and professional people who know what they are doing.
Yeap it's better to just hire a marketing team to do it. This is just lost money with 0 return to Hive . And they are really overpriced !!!
Yes they are over priced which is the problem and why so many of us see this as a cash cow type fund.
We are all the marketing team we need. We proved that in 2017.
I've seen quite alot of post about this value plan. It seems to bring value, but I don't think it brings a lot of value for Hive. But I don't know if that is the idea behind it.
If it is ment to draw more people or investors to Hive I doubt if it works.
I would love to see figures that prove me wrong.
I also wonder why all these different projects are gathered under one giant proposal. Wouldn't it be better that each project had his own proposal?
Yes each proposal would be far better explaining exactly who and what they will do. It is not about the funds, but the value as there is none or I have seen no benefit for HIVE.
Ten thousand dollars per day is a very significant amount. It would make sense to break it down into smaller chunks by a specific project.
Yes but some of those projects ok like nonsense and this way banding it together it is kind of approved or justified.
'The whales' are doing us all a favor by keeping the price as low as they do, imo.
It could very well be much higher, but instead they add sell pressure using the dao and supporting mostly worth less content creators.
Those 'worth less' creators sell it back to the folks trying to support the price before it hits a rational buy price.
Very astute on their part, iyam.
With the price to power ratio not being a rational buy until the price is under a dime, I'm all for this plan.
'The whales' get more for their hive than it's currently worth, and the restivus get to buy in at a not so terribly overinflated price.
If you don't like how the hive is managed, powerup more hive.™
Advertising will not bring in more people that stick.
It will bring in people that will, at some point, look around and realize that they don't have a snowball's chance in hell at ever acquiring real power in the hive.
This rules out any 'smart money' managers, they did the math and moved on.
In the hive's defense, things are much better than before the fork, and we are in a holding pattern for vsc before any new appraisals make sense.
Maybe once that is operational we can entice some of the 'smart money' folks to give us another look.
It's hard to beat obi and no fees.
it requires further documented analysis
No accountability and transparency. I completely agree. I'm all for big ideas, and the DHF proposals are full of them, but no one wants to take the work to actually show us how the money will be used or provide us with evidence of how it was used. Instead of proof, we get "trust me, bro". It's a joke.
DHF funding should require, at the very least, weekly detailed expense reports and audits, the absence of either meaning funding would be instantly revoked.
The way we throw around money here is insane and reeks of corruption. Hive will never be taken seriously as long as we act like this.
Totally agree with the above.
Throwing money out of the window is what most of these project mean. Nothing more.
