There are lots of similarities in our societies. Living pay check to pay check is also common in the States.

This is actually very true, in the past in the Elizabethen era in Nigeria you have people who had close to 20 children and multiple wives. The main reasons they did this was to actually have more labour for their farm. It's not really a "thing" nowadays.

Its because big government and corporations felt it unfair that women couldn't have many husbands so they said "We will then do the farming until there is equal rights! No one farms until everybody marries everybody... At the same time!"
