RE: Daily Crypto Markets Live Blog: The Start Of Leomarkettalk Commenting Contest (09/1/21)

Twitter could soon enable users to tip content creators using bitcoin following the latest update to its “Tip Jar” feature. Do you think they will add more cryptos in the future?

Not likely. How can they. I am not sure even adding the Lightning network will help.

We shall see what takes place. Adding cryptocurrency to Web2 doesnt make a lot of sense.

I think it's great for adoption. How they are going implement this and how it will affect regulations - this story will be interesting to follow.

A gimmick that will not work. Would add to the congestion already inherent in Bitcoin (BTC) transactions.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Well it would be fine if they did things on the lightning network right?

From what little I know about the Lightning Network, which is mostly from @brianoflondon's posts and videos about @podping, it is good for very small transfers.

Task knows a great deal more about how Twitter®'s foray into crypto tipping would work out. I will defer to his expertise in this realm as I do not have much knowledge about the Lightning Network and Bitcoin (BTC) in general.

Yeah, if they use Lightning then people can reduce the fees and transaction time to transfer their BTC. Lightning had initially limited 'channel' size to a maximum of 0.1677 BTC. I am not sure if this restriction is removed or not.

Pretty sure nobody will use Twitter for making heavy transactions.

Also, the volatility of BTC is a hindrance. What if I tipped you some Satoshis and the next day they are up 20% or 30% 😂

A very good point indeed!

It sounds like they are copying podping lol.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Lol. Copycats are everywhere but that's okay. Podping is unique because it utilizes state-of-the-art tech i.e. Hive blockchain. Twitter is miles behind.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I would tip them by telling them to come to Hive once we have Project Blank up and running. Much more valuable

Lol. Nice idea bro. I think there is a hive tipping app for Twitter as well. Forgot the name.

Like many of the other commenters I don't think this is feasible but I would like to see them try.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I am not sure if feasibility is a major issue. They just need to integrate a wallet and let people use it to fill with BTC and transact. I see an issue with the regulators which is why they have been hiring new legal team members as well.
