The first few versions of iPhone used standard screws which used standard screwdrivers for unscewring the screws. Then one day Apple switched to weird screws which required a weird screw diver for unscrewing the weird screws. Apple did this in response to people opening the devices on their own, thus forcing iPhone users to visit the Apple Stores for any fixes.
Something as simple as replacing the battery is easy with an Android phone, yet iPhone users have no choice but to visit the Apple Store to deal with that problem.
Then there are the developers who have apps on the App Store pulled after some time for bogus reasons. These incidents would be more familiar to people here.
Apple is so great at marketing that many people using its products are fanboys and fangirls of the products, yet Apple treats these same customers as if it owns them and can do whatever it wants to them. That's the impression I got from iPhone users I know.

I agree this is a very stupid problem. Also, the maintenance and service costs are so high. Just imagine if you break the screen. Either go with a fake one or get ready to pay so much money that could get you a better android phone than your costly iphone. 😂
I know many iPhone users who preferred living with cracked glass than getting it replaced. While there are places which could replace the cracked glass on an iPhone, these places are not "authorized Apple dealers."
Yes, if you put on a fake glass, that could actually damage your phone even more. Apple products are not great with third-party components. Only the ones, they chose for us.
Out of everyone in my family-- siblings, elders, cousins, etc.-- I'm one the the few Android users I know about. I don't care if they use Apple products, just don't expect me to volunteer to use Apple; work-issued devices are different since I didn't ask for them.

That could be one reason why the products are so expensive. If it's worth it, though, it's not an issue.
I still don't like Apple's attitude towards its customers. It's elitist.

Apple is for elites only. My wife is one of them 😝 and mom and my sister. Not me though!
