They are both wireless, but there are some key differences. It's especially important for who already owns one. If you don't, then I would say its a no brainer and get the latest one. Unless price is an issue and people are comfortable with 2nd hand... then I would go for the first one (there are a couple of great deals).

I bought last year the model 2 and my kids are happy with it.
Yeah... been trying v2 and v1... and to be honest there are a couple of "latency" issues with v2... v1 feels so much more real.
Still testing it thought. There is more image fluidity... and resolution, but v1 is still more "like and feel".
Yeah, my kids too. I'll check this weekend if everything still works with the AltVR account :)
