Welp, I made it home from Idaho Youth Shotgun State and a visit to Grandma’s. I then spent 24 hours mowing, doing laundry, completing various chores, attending the boy’s scholarship award ceremony, packing, and shall be departing again shortly in the company of my brother.

For you see, on Saturday we are having a celebration of life shindig for my Papa, and it’s shaping up to be one heck of a party.

Which is why I’m heading up north tonight, don’t want my Ma getting stuck with all the festivities preparations, even though she’s already done more than a lot.

So here in a bit the bro and I will be hurtling the hour northward up the parent’s plantation. After a week straight of coaching, parenting, logisticsing, and traveling, I’m a bit road weary.

And after I get back I’ve got the boy’s graduation and party to go through!

But you know what, aside from my tail dragging a bit, I’m feeling pretty dang blessed these days. There’s a lot of life packed into my timeline right now, and as a homesteader and existential enthusiast I always find more than a bit of joy in season change.

Nap season might be appreciated though.

Anyway, I’ll be catching up with ya’ll here in the Hiveaverse soon, until then I hope you enjoy some foodie, Columbia River Gorge, and nature photos that I snapped as I hurtled around this past week😊

I used to think I was quite the multitasking ninja until I started reading your blog . Now I have to admit that I'd need at least 3 clones and a time-machine to reach your level!:)

Organizing a celebration for your grandfather’s life is very touching and it’s great that you support your mom and share the preparations instead of letting her handle everything alone.

I thought that looked like the Columbia River Gorge! Such a pretty place. I'm glad you are managing to largely enjoy this interlude of non-stop craziness.

Ahhh, what a blessed time you've had. I suppose that's a different type of exhaustion. Enjoy, the nap days will come along soon enough

I hope the celebration of life goes well. Lots of family and friends, I bet. Don't forget to take care of you....
