Yeah, if we're using it as a cornerstone it definitely needs to be up to date. That obviously goes for all content, but I would rather "scam google" than to miss out on the traffic.

Yep, I certainly agree that any traffic is good traffic.
Just if we can encourage linking to updated (or completely evergreen content) as our cornerstone pages, then the organic traffic can truly last.
