Hi, this is my first post in here and it's more like a heads up about unstoppable domains.
So this week I've read a couple of articles about this project, this domain name NFT sort and I bought myself one without actually looking into what I am really buying. Everything went smooth, I activated my account, paid with my debit card I got the email confirming the transaction and finally I was able to see the domain name I bought on my unstoppable panel which looks like the following:
Ok so after I bought the domain name, it showed up under My domains with the option to transfer it to my wallet as an NFT sort which I did. Now as soon I clicked to send it to my Metamask, the domain name disappeared from the domains panel and never showed up on metamask. After digging some in the help FAQ section, I landed to this page where I have the option to connect my wallet to their thing:
Ok so they are saying you first need to connect the wallet where you minted the domain name in order so you can see it .... weird but OK
So I did and I hit this brick where they suppose to send you a validation code which never came ofcourse. Now I am pretty sure there is no issue with their email server because I got a few emails from them ... in order to validate my account, to validate the transaction when I bought the domain .. so this is just a delaying trick.
I did contacted them asking for a refund and they replied saying the Domains minted to the blockchain are outside of the refund policy for now.
Then further on with my readings about them i found this
So they aren't approved by ICANN (The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers ) and in order to use these domain names both you and your visitors needs to install some browser plugins in order to be able to land to one of these websites. Now that's ok because you're not even able to hit this point as there's no way to point your domain to a hosting or ip or NS or nothing.
So yeah I wanted to share my experience with them and maybe think twice before jumping in. Their prices go from 10$ - 20$ all the way up to big numbers
