As long as they can keep it on the hill. Everywhere next to it are houses.
Last year in September everything left from it, up a large mountain was burned, 10.000 hectares. It took almost 2 months to extinguish. Everybody is still in shock from back than and is hoping they can control it early so not a repeat fire like that can occur.

It got worse during the night as no planes can be up there 😳 it grew 5 times.
6 villages have been evacuated now so nobody should be close by anymore.
200 firefighters, 7 helicopters and 1 plane are deployed.
The locals and some expats created an wildfire watch app where everybody gets updates and latest news. Even the authorities use it.
We follow closely…
Rain won’t happen until autumn anymore. So sea water it has to be with the 🚁🛩🚁🛩🚁

And that is scary if the fire scope gets wider and wider. It boggles me how wildfire come about because it becomes kind of common in the dry season. When I read about wildfire, I always have this question, "did someone intentionally lighted fire in there?"
It's great that they are able to create an app like that which is very useful.

Last years the biggest one ever around here. Was lid intentionally in 3 places with pine ones. To destroy as much as possible.
For this one, not much info about the cause is there as they first need to try and contain it 😖

Yes, someone must either intentionally or accidentally did it. It's just sad because it destroys the forest and its whole ecosystem. Hope they will be able to contain that one real soon. It's scary.
