I'm also wondering how the INLEO UI itself behaves, as I've noticed that many of the upvotes I receive (for instance Khal's ones during the AMA's) aren't reflected here, while others are, in spite of those being for a lower amount.

Khal's vote was probably not significant enough. Minimum of $0.02 to appear in your notifications in InLeo, same as Peakd.
It works same as peakd, think they have the same notification system
