Are They Getting Us Ready for Energy Rationing?

Fair? Yeah, I know what RED means. I know what you're saying. Thanks for the context.

Received a Disturbing Letter Today: My Home Energy Report

We are a larger than average household, using a moderate and expected amount of electricity for the number of people here. We turn off lights in rooms we're not in, we use the microwave sparingly and pay attention to our electricity usage.

Not for the sake "of the planet" but for the sake "of my wallet".

Behavior Modification by Perceived Social Pressure

I was raised to not compare myself to others. Yet my electric company is chiding me because my "energy use was higher than similar homes". Higher in bold print, just in case I might miss it.

Is it right for them to to apply these tactics because our statistics are not what they consider average?

image.png

They are using subtle jabs to change our behavior. They are giving the impression we are doing something wrong by using our resources (which we pay for) in a reasonable manner.

Free to be... you and me? Nope. Free to GET IN LINE. And wear a mask.

image.png

So when do we get the carrot? The incentive to be "in the Efficiency Zone"? Discounts? Gift cards? The ability to buy and sell?

What if We Do Not Voluntarily Reduce Our Energy Usage?

Just like all the other social manipulation we are seeing today, this is another attempt to use gentle pressure to change the behaviors of home owners. Right now, it's just a "home energy report", but I didn't request this. Why are they sending me this?

How long before this "report" becomes a "warning"? How long before a "warning" becomes metering or rationing? What other methods are they going to use to modify behavior they don't approve of?

Force?

I never liked the stupid smart meters. I've seen it as either dangerous and/or restrictive. The information on the panel of a smart meter is completely useless. Unlike the analog meters that were easy to read, these things are a total mystery. What is their true purpose? Are they hiding something? What can this thing do?

We go online and see these neat charts and graphs, but we have no way of knowing if it's accurate or not. We assume it's accurate. They tell me I use 9% more energy than what they call similar homes.

They tell me lots of things. Does that mean I'm required to believe them?

They Can't Lie... Or Can They?

It's a myth that well funded corporations are required to tell the truth. Oh, there's regulations, there's checks and balances to keep them honest. But what if it's a "well intentioned" lie? A coordinated lie? A lie that could (allegedly) save lives? A lie that could (allegedly) "save the planet"?

Well, I suppose that's a good lie. Then it's our MORAL responsibility to accept good lies. Right? It's GOOD for Good lies to be called "truth". Am I Right? Even if the good lie is an inconvenient "truth"... because it's for the good of the planet. You want what's good for the planet, don't you. DON'T YOU?

You'll Own Nothing and You'll Be Happy

If we see Energy Rationing some day, we know it will be based on THEIR criteria, THEIR subjective view of social standing, THEIR desired behavior modifications. You see, it's all for the GREATER GOOD. How many people have perished and will perish for the GREATER GOOD?

Even if that GREATER GOOD is still out over the horizon, let's keep up the temporary tyranny (to save lives) because we can build back better (to save the planet) and we will own nothing and be happy.

image.png

Time to reset back to the 1920's rise of Socialism, back when it was untested and trendy. Let's re-write those history books and remove all that nasty failures... let's move FORWARD for the GREATER GOOD that is beyond the horizon. Progress!

And take it from Greta: we are in an existential climate emergency. Isn't a few hours of darkness in your home worth it? Why use your PC when your phone is fine? Isn't energy rationing just a sensible thing to do in an existential climate emergency?

Teach Your Children Liberty from Sin

We encourage parents to teach their children principles of Godliness, beginning with the Word and an understanding who God is and what His Son has done to form a relationship with us.

No one can lay a foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, his workmanship will be evident, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will prove the quality of each man’s work. 1 Corinthians 3:11-13

Teach Your children Liberty from Tyranny

Second to this is the principle of self-determination and freedom, lest we loose the ability to teach our children the first principle in future generations. Our children read the Tuttle Twin books, specifically to learn libertarian principles, which most people learn later in life. These books are useful for our family, and yours, to teach children concepts that seem complicated, but are made simple in these books.

If you don't want they to tell you how to consume why don't you buy solar panels to get your own electricity. I think this is a good way to organize consumption

Solar panels don't work here, not enough sunlight. I was thinking about potatoes, I hear they produce energy.

Yes, energy rationing is in your future.
Even if The US energy self sufficient now, and all that solar and wind...

3% is smaller than measurable error.
What are they going off on?
Its like saying, "do you want your pennies", after your giving over a $100 bill.

Further, everyone's electric usage goes up after getting a smart meter installed.
I would not be surprised that you usage goes up by 3% every year, because of meter adjustments.

But, as you know the only thing "smart" in a smart meter is its ability to turn your power off without them coming to your house.

Smart meters are smart for them, stupid for us. They want absolute control over every aspect of our lives.
