The best wedding gifts (in my opinion) are the type that preserves wealth, is small and is scarce and valuable. Currently silver is not very expensive, but if you talk to people in the know, we're about to see some crazy silver price moves in the next few months and years.
I didn't have any Silver Eagles 2022, but I did have an Australian Kangaroo 2022. It's a little odd, but exotic and unique coin.
The photo makes it look "dusty" but in real life it's shiny shiny. I hope they like the gift and appreciate it's future value. I suppose nobody wants their wedding gifts to be a speculation... but in the meantime it's beautiful to hold and has a nice weight to it.

You are correct about gifts that hold their value. Unfortunately, most newly weds are seeking items to start a home. Clearly marked sterling silver serving ware is a great gift. Serving ware with an ounce of silver holds as much value as a coin and is useful.
One can often find good deals on used silver products. Antique silver ware is one of the few used items that people enjoy receiving.
