That's interesting. Personally I try not to spread myself too thin but I diversify a bit to balance risk

Start with one when funding is tight, then branch out later on.

I think people need to focus upon a core. Many use disversifcation as a way to be lazy. This means they do not put the time into learning about what they are holding. This leads them to believing that holding different assets can protect them.
As we know when the bear hits, it takes most things with it.

Diversification is not a bad idea, but not spreading one's self too thin. This is the strategy I use, then again I have a tiny portfolio.
