They're also planning manned Moon and Mars missions. When we moved to a new house as a kid. I found all of these old books and magazines in the basement. One of them from the 1930's theorized that there might be a twin Earth on cloudy Venus, with dinosaurs still running around. Now we know the surface is hot enough to melt lead at 900 degrees F. The Russian Venera probes melted within minutes to a few hours of landing.

They see the value in what is happening. In my view, space manufacturing is the most exciting part in all this. I think that is one area we will see advancement for humanity.

It is no surprise to me. China is looking to be, if not already, a major player on the world stage. It would be nice if we could cooperate with them more but there is that sense of nationalism that many times precludes such cooperation.
Look at us in the United States with the creation of Space Force. Is this in anticipation of a war for cosmic dominance? We humans may have advanced in the fields of science and technology, but still adhere to our historical feudal cultures.
We are generally aggressive creatures at are core if our actions are any indication. Not much different than wolves that protect their dens and follow their alpha.
