I think inserting a lightning address to add BTC would be quite nice. However, I wonder if it defeats part of the anonymous aspect.

Lightning is actually quite privacy friendly, because the transactions are not stored on the blockchain and transmitted encrypted similar to the Tor network. Nodes do not know who is interacting with whom. However, if it's a custodial node with KYC then at least the node has the information, but not the other nodes.
