Jordan is unloading his stake of the Charlotte Hornets. They sucked throughout his reign as an owner and the team's worth is at near the bottom in the NBA, but the man is still walking away $loaded$ based on valuation #nba #legend

Sort:

It cost him his friendship with Barkley because Charles said he was a crap owner and the team sucked under him.

What is the estimated sales price?

WOW @taskmaster4450le there are reports that he sold his stake for 3 BILLION. I'm still not convinced but it seems that is the consensus based on on sources.

Well, MJ paid 275 million back in 2010 but I haven't read any concrete numbers yet although it's safe to say it will be a lot more than that @taskmaster4450le I mean the NBA is a cash cow either way.

He stayed invested long enough to make good ROI on his stake. He was a better owner than executive.

For sure @magnacarta - he's no dummy that's for sure #moneyjordan

MJ was a better executive than Phil Jackson. Then again, that's like saying that water is wet. I won't question his coaching achievements, but he just mailed it in as an executive.

So true. Phil sucked with the Knicks as an executive.

All he had to do was call free agents & get them to sign on the dotted line; they would have been happy to take his call. He didn't call them, so they felt slighted, so they stayed away from the Knicks. It was a failure from top to bottom.

One of many of Dolan's debacles @magnacarta

The only thing worse than Jim Dolan owning the Knicks is Jim Dolan owning the Jets. And that team hasn't done well since Tim Tebow got to wear the kelly green for Rex Ryan.
