When I started out on this cross country trip about 11 days ago, I always have it in my mind to take...A lot of pictures. Mainly because I love to document each of these journeys and have a record of them on chain....
But alas, I have to be honest...The bulk of the time on this trip, doesn't have what you would call...Spectacular views. But I do get a nice shot then and again...
I thought I'd share a few snap shots I took and reflect on them for today's post....Nothing to exciting, just Jongo on the road in the fall of 2025.
I took this in Swan River Manitoba on Monday October 6th....And I hate that I had to 'zoom in' so much because whether or not this is a full moon....It was breathtaking.
The shot doesn't do it justice...The moon was so bright, and so big in the sky. I almost stopped my truck in the middle of the road to take a pic of it lol But found a truck stop along the highway and made sure snap it.
The night was cool and crisp, with minimal cloud cover....And the moon just 'popped'.
Next up was my trip north on Highway 10 in Manitoba. This highway goes as far north as Flin Flon Manitoba, but I didn't go that far up.
The early fall weather was starting to turn the trees yellow. But I loved the contrast between the big blue sky, the green and yellow trees...It was quite peaceful.
I only had to slow down twice for some deer and even a coyote along the road.
Just past Mafeking, Manitoba I turned west and headed towards Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan along highway 77. I drove this road a few years ago and to call it a 'rough road' would be an understatement...
As you can see, they have recently paved the road over and it was a much smoother ride. In the distance, you can see the tail end of the Manitoba Escarpment. That's the Porcupine Hills which along with Riding Mountain and Duck Mountain creates this incredible part of the province.
The majority of southern Manitoba and Saskatchewan are flat...And I mean REALLY flat...But once you get to these hills, the terrain changes drastically.
It's some of the nicest scenary on my journey. So I always enjoy my time driving through it.
I'm still about a week away from being home, and then after a few days back I head up north for the final leg of my fall run. So far, it's been a great trip. And I'm especially looking forward to this weekend when I arive in Saskatoon....My oldest son is in the city for his schooling, so I'll get to meet up with him!e
Thanks for checking out my post today and sharing in my journey!

It is nice to see how much happiness you get from these times, even if they're not that "amazing."
It sounds like a nice trip, and the moon looks so bright. Just a bit longer, and you will be back home.
Nice pictures, I didn't get to see a lot of Manitoba when I went their for a work thing. It rained the whole 2 days.
I love those autumn colors, it's my favorite season.
You have really tried, being on the road for a full week, that's a great sacrifice, take care of yourself.
The moon is at its brightest of the year and 14% larger. Time to make a wish.
That is a very nice scenery to have a road trip
