Hive is easily the spark that led my family and I into the wonderful and intriguing world of blockchains, cryptocurrency, DeFi, staking, NFTs, and so much more.

πŸ“ˆ STAYING ALIVE WITH HIVE πŸ™Œ

Β  Β  Β It's been a long and slow road, but my Hive-blogging journey led me to greater crypto-awareness via my efforts to manage my Hive portfolio and earnings more effectively. This quest to learn more about cryptocurrency led me to LeoFinance, and eventually the CUB Airdrop for LEO holders (or stakers, I can't remember anymore) was the seed that finally made me learn about Binance and the Binance Smart Chain that CubFinance operates on.

Β  Β  Β Along the way I discovered Hive DApps like the NFT Showroom, DCity, the RisingStarGame, and the game my oldest daughter Srey-Yuu made a small fortune on, Splinterlands. These awesome DApps taught me more about blockchain gaming, and the NFT-iverse.

πŸ‘¨β€πŸ’» Re-Earning Our Life Savings πŸ’Έ

Β  Β  Β Our first couple years stranded abroad saw us lose our life savings of $20,000 USD, which was slowly drained from my bank account to keep us fed, clothed, and sheltered in Ecuador, and now Suriname. However, as this fiat money was slowly being drained from my bank account, it was being replaced by HIVE, HBD, and various other cryptocurrencies.

Β  Β  Β In the last 6 months we have moved out of the red and are no longer spending more than we earn, and it couldn't have come any sooner. I've found my lost $20K in fiat replaced by a roughly $20k-valued Hive account, plus a few thousand of investments in DeFi projects off of Hive. Also, now that my wife @Sreypov and daughters the @KidSisters are blogging on Hive too, they've earned several thousand dollars. After all of our upcoming potential immigration expenses like plane tickets, physicals, vaccines, and more, we might just arrive in the USA from Suriname-Guyana with $20k, exactly what we had before we got stranded abroad.

Β  Β  Β With green cards in hand and Cambodia reinstating visas on arrival later this year, a return to Cambodia will be possible, and we finally be able to achieve our dream of buying a small piece of land and having our own little house to comfortably grow old in.

Do you plan to come back to Cambodia? I think you can buy land and start farming for peaceful life while your blogging earning for the bright future.

I fully agree. ASAP we hope to be back in Cambodia, it's the only place we've ever felt at home, although I think we could also enjoy life in Albania too. First thing is to get land in Cambodia, especially while prices are low because of the global economic conditions.

During my 10 years in Cambodia, buying land was always out of reach, but now it's possible for the first time in my life, and supposedly visas-on-arrival will be available again before 2022.

Ideally, we arrive the USA, get green cards, fly to Cambodia, purchase land, stay 6 months, and return to the USA, spending 6 months back and forth until my family has American citizenship and passports.

Lovely to hear things are getting to where they should be. Congrats and all the best wishes to us always.

Luckily we haven't backtracked any this long journey, but the forward progress has been extremely slow. I'm just glad finally that our crypto earnings now outweigh our month-to-month expenses. Knowing this makes it a little easier to sleep at night. Thanks for the positive words.

I'm glad you achieved your goals
!PIZZA

@justinparke! I sent you a slice of $PIZZA on behalf of @naythan.

Did you know you can spend $PIZZA on games in the $Pizza Store? (8/10)

Well, some of them. It's good to have short-term and long-term goals. Our long-term goad is to have a modest tiny house on a small piece of land in Cambodia, and also own a Piaggio Ape once again. Even if I was a millionaire, I would still only desire this simple dream.

Best wishes! You have a lovely family. Such an inspiration.

Thank you my friend. I am most excited for what the crypto-verse might do for our daughters. Srey-Yuu and Monkey-B have already hit $5,000 in crypto assets. Not bad for a 12 and 7-year old.

How nice to read all of that, I am so happy for you and the family knowing that you will be returning to Cambodia it will certainly change your lives for the better well down guys that's a real family team sticking together πŸ‘

Yeah, I do hope to see Srey-Yuu and Monkey-B have the freedom to be comfortable in life no matter what they choose to do. If crypto provides them enough passive income to pursue what makes them happy in life instead of what pays the bills, I'll know I've given my daughters a bright future.

Thanks for the support and always good vibes.

You are doing a great job as a Dad @justinparke and i wish you all a bright future πŸ‘

Guys, IΒ΄m so happy for you. Crypto has changed many lives, including mine. Ok, it hasnΒ΄t changed yet, but it will as soon as I use all the profits I made. Although I died a few times in the past 4 1/2 years I would say it was worth it.

DonΒ΄t forget to sell a bit every now and then, as I think one day there will be a nasty crash.

Haha, us too as far as profits. I still haven't cashed out anything, saving for tiny house, land, and Piaggio Ape. I do hope to get these things before a crash, and it's always a tough call between how much USDC to hold/stake and how much riskier stuff we want to do to achieve our dreams a little faster.

Well done. I am so happy for you guys. Bright future ahead! What would you think of giving Ecuador a second chance? Would love to live close to you and the family again!

We definitely belong in the East somewhere. Ecuador is okay, but the lifestyle is too western/European, and it reminded me too much of all the problems I was escaping when I left for Asia. The Caribbean and South America just aren't my cup of tea, but we could still come and visit if the world is normal again by then.

Of course and we ll come to the East. For me it's the other way around. Need some more action, extroverness... and western things like strawberries in my life hehe

Cambodia will be one of the first places to reopen in SE Asia. I live in Siem Reap and it's been pretty much life as normal for the past 2 years. They are doing a great job vaccinated people and containing any outbreaks here.

Tourist's visas could be coming this month or November.

Where are you planning on staying? I would advise avoiding Siem Reap until next year. The entire city is under road construction. It's still OK here but the construction makes life a little more difficult.

Fingers crossed....I lived in Siem Reap for 5 years, do miss it sometimes. After that lived in Kampot and Kep for 5 years, with some brief stints in Phnom Penh.

I think when we go back we are ready to buy land live off of crypto and Hive. We've both explored the country quite a bit, and would like settle in the countryside of Pailin or around one of the mountain valleys near Tatai Waterfall.

Maybe we can link up one day when/if we return. For now we've spent too much money on US immigration to stop now, so when we come to Cambodia it will be with American green cards in hand.

Nice, I'm probably down to Kampot in January. Yeah if you make it back we'll definitely hook up!

In order to have done as well as you have, you must be making great content. I enjoyed the video. It's nice to e-meet you. I feel like the Hive-verse has only just begun! I've tried to get my daughters to post more, too. @bigbrainproblems is my daughter. Good job, papa...

I did go into a bit of a 3Speak slump for a while, but I'm slowly getting back into the flow, still not fully comfortable or able to be 100% myself on camera. I'll check out your kiddo's profile and recommend my kids (@KidSisters) do the same. Nice to e-meet you too.

I've been asking if they have something to post for the last couple of days πŸ˜€ should have something soon. 3 speak doesn't seem to have much exposure, yet. I should probably post more there, but I can post on YouTube for my evergreen content and post here for my one and done content. It doesn't make sense to post evergreen content on Hive because you only get paid for a week's worth of exposure, in my opinion.

It's true what you say,We must be able to use this hive blockchain,Because this will give us a good life even if it is slow.

Slow in the beginning, but once enough is saved, it becomes very exciting to see the returns. Thanks for stopping by.
