Being A Full Time Hive Blogger

in LeoFinance2 years ago

Not all people are great authors. I am one of them. I have been Hive blogging for more than a year. There are things that make me feel happy and sad.

Things that make me happy are when Hive and Hive Engine tokens are at a high price. I can earn good rewards from my post. I can save some of the rewards for stake. I also have cash in my daily life.

However, when the Hive and Hive-engine tokens are at a low price, everything looks blurry and hopeless. I still have the motivation to post, but I think I have lost my spirit. I am a full time blogger. That is the problem.

My biggest payout earning is $20 and the lowest is under $1. The average pay out is around $3 to $7. When I only earn $3 a day in a post, I think I want to give up blogging, but I do not have any jobs.
I should have a positive outlook on this condition. When the Hive price is around $2.5 to $3 the minimum pay out is $9.

In this situation, finally I power down my Hive power and Hive-engine tokens. I need cash for daily life. I do not care if there will be one or two who say, "I do not care about the Hive community." I need to survive with my power down.

Some successful authors earn between $10 and $50 per post. With that fund, I can save my power and my stake in hive-engine tokens.

I do not know what the future of my post will be. When my posts do not get good upvotes from whales. Begging for upvotes is a kind of online beggary. Writing quality content LOL .... Quality is not something that I cannot measure.

Ah.. I just want to share my difficult experience of being a Hive blogger. I hope your discontent with my post will not give me downvotes, Things that I am afraid of are downvotes. Upvotes are my family's dinner, while downvotes are my family's cry.

I tried to help my friend on board on Hive and they all failed. They gave up and became non-active in Hive. They did not say anything, but without earning they leave this platform silently.
I hope I can survive, and I will survive.

I will have to remember this opening as one can read it either way:

Not all people are great authors. I am one of them.

HiveBuzz says that your average author reward is 2.157 HIVE.

Unfortunately the author rewards are a reflection of how well a person networks and is not indicative of the quality of the post.

Author rewards also seem to reflect the amount of HIVe in one's account. When my upvote was worth less than a penny, I rarely got any upvotes. Now that it is worth $0.20, people are willing to put up with me.

Interestingly, I seem to have the exact opposite problem as you. When I was only getting 0.02 per post, I had no problem pounding out posts. Now that I am getting higher payouts I find myself completely marred by writer's block.

Upvotes are a bit suspect too. For example, I have to vote four times before I go to bed and will probably end up voting on things at random.

I was staring at your post wondering if your opening sentenced said that you do not see yourself as a gifted writer, or were you pulling a fast one and saying that you see yourself as a great writing but in self-deprecating fashion.

I am inclined to think the second option is true.

Very true!

You are right. That is why I am very active in ASEAH Hive community. The community is very welcome to me.

Thanks for your response.
I read and learned about some authors in Hive. I knew a few of them well. One of the communities that I am active in has a great author. He tells daily stories. He can bring his readers into his emotions. I always wait for his daily posts and stories. He earns good rewards for every post he makes. Another author is a girl. She is from the same country as me. She focuses on culinary and tourism. She always makes good reward on her post.

From both authors, I learn and try to talk to them. They were very kind to me. I learned a lot from them. I tried to make posts like their posts, and they helped me with curation. I was helped by their curation. One of the problems is that I can not always produce content that always like their posts. I know their content is great, but unfortunately, I can not follow them consistently. That is why when I see myself that I am a poor author.

Thanks my friend. I know you have a few post but you are very active in Hive. I hope you and your family are always in good time.

You don't have to be the best blogger to be successful on hive.
You need to be interesting and to make connections.
Over time the writing will improve as you learn how to do it better.

You don't have to be the best blogger to be successful on hive.

That is true. Making networks is my focus today. I do not have to write as a university student who want to submit his paper.

Powering down is like slauthering your cow that gives you milk every day. Should be only the last resort.

That is a big dilemma for me. When I need some cash, I do not have any idea where the source of the fund. Power down is one solution. I hope my earning will be enough for family living without power down in the future.

Get your money back on track.

Thanks for your support. I hope my earning will be better in the next months.

Those whose bread and butter rely on the earning from the platform has no way except selling their crypto. It's understandable. I think there are many authors who do not earn too much, but the little is better than nothing.
Keep striving.....
