Bitcoin seems to be stuck in a range. We will see if it can break out this week.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Boring is good. At least we won't see all the FUD and look away from the prices.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

That comment didnt age well. It shot up overnight.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I'll just leave this here.

This year will be different, as it may not reach the expected $100K price, but it will not fall sharply as it has a slow but steady growth.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Slow and steady makes no sense to me because retail is hoping on the training again and they are always the complete opposite of slow and steady.

I'm personally expecting a parabolic breakout before EOY towards $100k. Dunno if we will reach it but in the next 6 months I won't be surprised to see a $300k BTC

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Not boring right now! Up $2500 in the last hour and a half....

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Yeah I was ahead of the game a bit.

Maybe I will state how Hive is boring too.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Possibly break the current range, as there is a lot of things cooking from today.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Eric Adams is really trying to spread the word of crypto. Hopefull it will help to set interesting projects in motion.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

That's good to hear, and better late than never considering the stance that New York state has taken on crypto.

In my area, we may as well be living in 1999, as I'm seen as that "crypto dude" (they think it has something to do with prepping).

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

If hive will break above 67k to 68k we are sure to head toward 75k - 80k before this year runs out.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I think you mean Bitcoin, not Hive.

If Hive heads to 67K, there will be a lot of wealthy people around here.

do you think alts will start rising this week?

Posted using LeoFinance Mobile

We still need to see where BTC will consolidate. They will be lagging behind for a bit just like every time.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

YESS!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Crypto in church? Seems like this might be a harbinger of mass adoption. Let's hope they add HIVE!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Well I see no reason to refuse money. Why would you be picky about the source of a donation?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

They weren't picky at all. The church (and some non-profits) were only too happy to accept donations in crypto. Expect to see more of this going forward.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I'm not very religious so I never thought about that but it makes a whole lot of sense to me. I think soon churches will have their own tokens too.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Churches never had their own tokens during the eras of metal money and paper money, so I don't think they will have their own tokens. That could change over time, but I don't see that happening.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I know of a few churches in my country that created their own tokens to help the impoverished communities they "represent". In fact, one of the biggest obstacles that made the projects drag for longer than expected was all the paperwork required to make it work and that's one of the reasons I believe they would benefit a lot from the introduction of cryptocurrency.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Those churches do that there? Holy cow! If they can do that, are they even churches? Don't answer that!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Church and state has gone hand in hand throughout every era though.

They haven't needed to create their own currency because they've been so ingrained into every mainstream system.

Protection, tax breaks, political pull, anti-discrimination laws etc etc.

However, the shift away from nation states controlling the economy, toward digital communities is going to change everything.

Just like any other business/organisation forcasting a potential loss of power and revenue, churches must innovate or get left behind.

Imagine the TVL that a Catholic Church run and sactioned DeFi platform could instantly generate.

We're surely not far off.

God ble$$ you all.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I grew up in a church family, and got to see the "church business" from the inside. Far from chasing out the moneychangers, these guys will do anything to make a buck. My grandfather was a pastor and regulary talked about "profit and loss" as if he were running a business, which he in fact, was.

I could see not only church/denomination tokens, but a pastor NFT. My wealthy, hypocrite grandfather would hold any function to make even more money, then sit at our dinner table making fun of the poor. Guys, you have no idea how these greedy, vain, pretenders act when the public isn't watching. Don't put anything past these snakes.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Reality check!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

If nation-states go the way of the dodo bird, then perhaps churches would need to find ways of funding themselves beyond the collection plate or basket. Once the nation-state sanctioned a church, it became just another agency of the nation-state; that may be why it has the history it has.

HIVE

Hive Onboard has had this error message for ages:

Unavailable.

Is Hive Onboard funded by the Hive DAO?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I tried onboarding a friend last week and we ended up using the blocktrades signup method. Everything else was broken.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

How do you go about onboarding friends?

Every time I have someone who shows a little interest, I use the Twitter or email signups on LeoFinance or Ecency.

Then delegate a small amount of HIVE to that account and send them the keys with instructions to install keychain.

However, results have not been good haha...

I haven't successfully onboarded a crypto n00b that I know personally yet.

Everything is still just too complex and hard.

Have you had better results?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I actually made them install keychain first and then create an account through the signup page. BlockTrades seems to be the easiest one because they power up your account with most of the Hive you send. And that's about it.

Anybody new here looking for something to write about today?

A Ripple (XRP) pros and cons blog post with a link to our Ripple guide would be extremely helpful.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Count on me ;)

I am not new, but I like to support projects.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Thank you for doing that. The quality is great and fit perfectly into the final guide. :)))

I've upvoted and will ensure you get your cut of the LEO author rewards when I finalise the guide.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Hey @magnacarta, was it you that said you were going to do a Ripple vs Steller comparison blog?

@esmeesmith, I saw you did an Ethereum comparison already, but we still need the Stellar one if you're also looking for something to write today.

Remember guys, the more content and posts linking to the guide the better, so don't worry about duplicates :)

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

That's correct, "@"forecbrokr; my post is the comparison of XRP/Ripple vesus Stellar. I've had to take care of offline matters, so it's taking me longer than I had anticipated.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Yes I'll get to it :)

Hey Esmee,

Thanks again for doing these.

My only suggestion would be for you to run these through an app like Grammarly before you hit publish.

Question.
Do you think we should be frugal or we should be earning more? Or mix of both?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Being frugal isn't the same as being cheap. It means being strategic with spending while trying to save. When quality is more important for something, spend good money on quality; otherwise, economize when possible. This allows the good things to be part of a budget, too. If a less-than-optimal use of money was made, it can akways be compensated for by a sacrifice elsewhere.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Like when I bought my first computer, there was a BTO option to add the latest version of Windows, upgrade the chip and ports, a huge (for the times) hard drive, and double the RAM for $200.

I took that option, knowing it would save me money over time.

Best bucks I ever spent on tech, as I got to watch everybody else have to completely replace their obsolete comps, while I got years of service out of mine.

People tend to live in the now instead of preparing for the future. These are the same people who laughed at me for "wasting" $200, and would end up doing so again at the arrival of Bitcoin. Luddites with blinders on.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

It reminds me of those people who buy the cheap collapsible umbrellas from the sidewalk vendors shortly before a storm or even as it pours heavy rain. Those things are good for maybe one or two uses before they end up in the "umbrella graveyard" cluttering the sidewalk. I would see this a few blocks from work after every strong storm.

After 5 purchases of those umbrellas, you would think these people would reconsider buying a decent-quality umbrella for the money they spent on the gargbage unbrellas.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

A mix of both is probably good. If you cut back on spending and earn from a side hustle, your that much further on the money you have available to invest.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Earning more is always best but not always under our control. At least not at the moment in the scarcity model.

Being frugal it's something we have more control over but it only helps so much so I think I mix of both is probably healthy.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

It depends where in life you are as well.

For example, as a young person with nothing to lose, you will probably be better served by doing everything you can to increase income rather than scratching for tiny savings that wont change anything long term.

But then this may be different for someone who is a little further along in life.

I'm reminded of when I returned from Europe in 2018, and found out my bank had been charging me ATM and money transfer fees when making withdrawals in Germany.

I had to learn all about SWIFT numbers, and all of the hoops you have to jump through with currency conversions, etc. Converting dollars to Euros, moving money, and paying excessive fees on both ends, they got you coming and going. Crypto might help with that.

I hope that works out and can be a blueprint for others to follow. I was surprised to learn that 94% of the Chinese population lives in the eastern portion of the country. This divison is known as The Heihe–Tengchong Line. Here you have over one billion people packed together in the only available space with arable land.

I have a question and I wish someone please could help me with a good answer:

When buying a car what is the difference of buying it with financing and buying it with cash?

Which is better for the buyer?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

They are both bad for the buyer because owning a car is a waste of money. LOL I'm just joking because I've been car-less for a while now.

But seriously speaking, I believe it can depend heavily on what kind of financing models you have in your country. Where I live, when you buy it with financing there will always be interest involved so, in the end, is going to be more expensive for the buyer.

Buying with cash is cheaper, but the buyer must have the money readily available, which is not always the case.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I get it, and it's true the best thing to do is to have a bike or walk hahaha.

Thanks for the answer.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

All you need to do is compare the returns you can get by investing your cash elsewhere, with interest repayments on a car loan.

There is no right or wrong choice because there's always a risk either way.
