Hello!
That's great news. Here in my country Venezuela, many locals accept cryptos. A couple of years ago a company did a pretty aggressive campaign and came out with a product that allowed businesses to accept cryptos and exchange them for fiat right away. It's not ideal but it was a way of allowing those of us with cryptos to use them to pay. And they managed to get on board a large supermarket chain and a few department stores as well as several fast-food chains.
But now the trend here is to have Binance pay as a payment option and receive USDT. And it would be great if in the not-so-distant future they would accept HBD, so I hope we will go there.

Maybe, they have a point at least regarding the aspect of the irreversible transaction. That's why in any transaction, one must double-check everything, which I failed to do today causing me to send 35.413 HIVE to the wrong address. 😄

You may be able to explain the situation to the Hiver who received the 35.413 HIVE in error so that it can be redirected to the Hiver who was supposed to receive it. Try doing that in a different community!
I suspect I was also the one who mistakenly created that account sometime in September last year. Only one character difference. There is no transaction in that account except the one I sent. My account is rzc24-nftbbg, but what I typed instead was rzc24nft-bbg.
That's one of those that still strike light where it doesn't exist.

Personally, I think it's still best to be anonymous. Although for personalities undertaking projects and wanting to gain trust of investors or so, it might be that they need to get their identities revealed or doxed as they put it.

Reasons vary why people prefer to maintain anonymity. As for me, I don't want any regulators to know anything about my financial transaction. Of course, for regulators, anonymity is the enemy for they think our money is theirs and they are entitled to some revenues from our transactions. Focusing on malicious actors as an argument to end anonymity is just an excuse for control and regulation.
Neither do I. The good thing is that here in the country, we aren't forced to declare everything, lol! Although I don't mind paying taxes as long as it is used for the common good.
I think not many would want to have their identity known too.

Once we convert our crypto into fiat, that's the time to tax. But in the crypto space, we take all the risks and the regulators don't add anything of value to this space. Let them rule in their world, not here. Imagine, if they are doing in cryptocurrency what they have been doing in traditional finance, I think a lot of value has already been destroyed.
Is this a good question or a misleading one? What will happen to the crypto markets when quantitative tightening takes full effect and the Federal Reserve shelves the money printer?

If I remember correctly, Singapore isn't so much a nanny-state like Germany as it is a no-nonsense state: obey their laws, you will be OK; disobey their laws, you will be dealt with swiftly. This is why littering and public gum-chewing are virtually non-existent there, as is crime generally. It's also why that idiot American tourist got caned in the mid-1990s; unlike most people here, I thought that idiot had it coming.
I remember reading about that years ago. He DID have it coming, but also read that the guy doing the caning took it easy on him because he was American. Don't know if he was asked to do that by higher-ups or did it on his own.

The US government tried to do all it could to bring the idiot home unscathed, but it wasn't 100% successful. I think there was a compromise reached, but caning still needed to take place. The point is, it's not a good idea to disobey the laws of a nation where one is a guest or visitor.
You're so right. When I was in England some local on that train heard me talking and found out I was American. He began loudly complaining about the government and the royal family, and tried to draw out my opinion on them. I told him I knew nothing about it, and it was a privildge to visit this great country. And that was that. :)

As Americans, we shouldn't perpetuate the stereotype of the "loud American tourist" beyond what we wear; we need to be respectful of our hosts, no matter where we are. Even when pressed for an opinion from our point of view, we just speak for ourselves as individuals and not as representatives of the nation.

Yes, the downside of this is that it affects progress in the LEL.
This, we get penalized in the event the comments get upvoted. But if the front-end isn't behaving as expected, then it cannot be helped.
Nope, been having glitches for a few days.
