Now Circle is following suit, pushing CT (Confidential Transactions), which still show who sends to whom, but which hides balances and amounts. The same as PayPal has been doing for months.
They're now creating a new term called "confidentiality" to contrast with "anonymity", basically saying the former is necessary but compliant hiding of some information (in this case, amounts), where anonymity is much stronger and can be used by bad actors to hide illicit activity.
Of course I reject this characterization, and believe that the strongest privacy that exists should be available to everyone, no questions asked. But I'm just pointing out the narrative shift in the space.
Two of the major stablecoin issuers getting serious about privacy, adding better privacy than Bitcoin or Ethereum has out of the box, is also a major sign that mass adoption is coming soon.
I hate to say it, but through centeralization in Canada, With coinbase and ShakePay(have you heard of them?) I can have my pay direct deposted into ShakePay. Convert that to Bitcoin, out of bitcoin, pay bills. It is basicly a Bitcoin Bank now. And I can use coinbase to convert other crytpo bitcoin and send to shakepay.
Don't like the centeralization thing. Maybe all that means I just have a new type of back account? lol
Haha Sweden is a nightmare country for using crypto! Bitrefill, one of the very best companies for living on crypto in the world, is based in Stockholm, and even they have difficulty using it!

I've always lacked access to services because I live in a poor and far from the city area. ShakePay used to have a Dash debit card many years ago.
OH, They have their own now. It is mobile phone based for tapping, and can use it online.

Yeah. And it messes up everything.
I've always lacked access to services because I live in a poor and far from the city area. We buy water to fill tanks, there is no water service here, there is no direct gas, you gotta buy gas cylinders, there was no internet here until about 3 years ago when I installed mine, there is no stable trash collection service.
But power wasn't this big of an issue until 2019. We had our random cuts but they were few, now it is 4 hours daily and sometime like today a lot more.
The situation you are going through is very sad.
All of this is very revolting and especially knowing after so much evidence in the elections...
I really hope this tyranny ends in our country.
I can understand how does it feel when you strauggle for the basic facilities and amentitis. I wish you become self-reliant, at the least install solar panel if affordable.
