oh wao, if you hadn't mentioned I would have seen it, I was straining my eyes so hard before I saw it...

It was hard to detect. The feathers provide great camouflage, blending nicely with the foliage.

Timing with hit and miss @featheredfriends

I just got a monocular that I can attach to a phone for close up shots, so I was testing how long it took me to set it up upon first sighting a bird. Not even close. The bird was gone by the time I opened my bag. :D

Better luck next time, be prepared!

Slightest movement they off like the wind!

I can't wait for warmer weather in the spring, so I can properly go out and photograph them.

At 37 deg C today most birds are in hiding from the heat! Shoulder seasons are best for bird photography.

By the time you realize they will fly away. This is a good shot. I like how the different colors of the plants ,make the picture cool

They are swift little guys. It was a pair of them flying around quickly from tree to tree.

Oh that makes the shot even a lot better.

there's just something about bird that's so incredible, how small and cute the look, and they are super smart it's not easy to take a picture of a bird unless they don't notice your present.

I think this species is called northern flicker. A pair of them flew rapidly across the path I was on and went into the forest. They jumped from branch to branch making a call. So quick!

i think I know a bird like that too over here in Africa, they jump so fast that you can't get hold of them, you were lucky to have gotten a picture while it didn't notice. Plus can I say I love how the forest over there looks. It's so green

The forest is supposed to be greener but it was a dry summer. Lots of rain recently though. I hope you can capture a photo of the bird one day :)

Really incredible how quick many animals can be a times!

Especially when you're trying to take a picture of them :)

Rate of their awareness is incredible lol

They move quickly through the forest. It was a pair of them flying around.
