Tonight I went to Tribaldex to pur money into the SWAP.HIVE:DEC liquidity pool.
When I had only SWAP.HIVE but 0 DEC, the {ADD LIQUIDITY} button was diabled for me. The button was disabled for me when I had DEC but SWAP.HIVE was at 0.000. Even when I had a 50/50 split between SWAP.HIVE and DEC the {ADD LIQUIDITY} button was diabled.
There must be a detail or two I am missing that's keeping me from using the {ADD LIQUIDITY} button. Either that, or Tribaldex is broken (and the empty FAQ section doesn't help).
Is Tribaldex the only place where I can add HIVE or Layer 2 tokens to a liquidity pool, or is there an alternative I can use?

In order to add liquidity, you need to have a similar value on both sides. So if you want to put in 1k DEC, you have 500 DEC and 500 DEC worth of HIVE. It's the reason why when prices change, your tokens will move along with it causing impermanent loss.

I was on the right track when I went for the 50/50 split between SWAP.HIVE and DEC. My problem was UX.
I saw the drop-down list for selecting the pool, so I chose SWAP.HIVE:DEC
What I didn't see was where to enter quantities of the Base Token (SWAP.HIVE) and the Quote Token (DEC).
It's true that zeroes were placed where the quantities are to be entered, but there was no indication that the zeroes were in data entry fields.
Also, the word MAX appeared twice (once for each token), but it wasn't obvious that they were clickable elements which filled the field with whatever the maximum token values were.
Once the zeroes were replaced by quantities, then the {ADD LIQUIDITY} button was enabled for me. I was able to add to the SWAP.HIVE:DEC liquidity pool.
While it's true that all the answers were in front of me on that screen, the user interface elements are not obvious to the uninitiated. For a data entry form that's on a web page and not a VT-100 terminal screen, the form is badly designed.

The Splinterlands Tokens post I had promised will be postponed a bit. I need to make a post about my experience with the diesel pool at Tribaldex first, then I need to organize the Splinterlands post.
