Let us boost our overall numbers by posting lots of comments throughout the day. Spread the word to get others involved.
It is a great way to stimulate engagement.
We can think of this as a Reddit type engagement thread. We are not dealing with long form content so topics of discussion can start off with a top line comment. We can fill in from there.

Question. What is better and safe for portfolio? Lending the coins or staking the coins?
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Holding the coins is the safest since its in your own wallet. I think lending and staking the coins are just as dangerous since it is all in the hands of another person.
Although staking the coins in places like HIVE is good because the code makes it so it still belongs to you.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Depends upon the platform.
Lending usually means you have to trust a 3rd party entity.
With staking, most often that is going to the blockchain and is still in your wallet.

What are people's honest opinions on Hive. I know alot of people like to criticise the network but it has grown and developed in leaps and bounds and achieving significant milestone stones.
So much so that Facebook, Twitter and the likes are attempting to move into the crypto space with curating and remittance rewards.
If Hive wasn't a threat these mainstream social media giants would be mentioning Hive but the lack of the mention means Hive poses a significant risk to their organisational structures.
I think HIVE is much better than the other social media sites. We are also developing quite well even if we are under the radar. Personally I think fast and feeless transactions are the best part.

Honest answer: FB is still safe for people on specific contexts while Hive can be totally unsafe for kids and women. As much as I see twitter and FB politically left leaned and full of censorship. There is a safety and option to have convo between specific set of people safely. Not so on hive.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
I disagree because Hive's full potential hasn't been unlocked as yet. On FB and I see it often with my wife in politics she has dick pics sent to her, abuse, attack and significant trolling.
Also trending posts will be shoved down people's throats without checking if it is what is wanted. On Hive none of that content is in your face you need to search for it. Also you can down vote people and if you seek help from say @flagrewards or @guiltyparties they can come and downvote content that is threatening in nature or violent. Enough downvotes silences the offender and removes their content from view.
On FB it relies on a bot that fails most the time. But Hive has more potential to tackle these issues than centralised social media.
Hive's potential maybe unlocked but trying to bet on it is suffering. Think about it. We can lock profiles on facebook, we can block people on facebook. You can't do anything such on hive. Plus what dick pics are sent to me, which people are stalking me, attacking me is visible to all the people on hive blockchain. You have to reach to the those two clean up accounts for downvotes which still doesn't remove offensive content but hides it how does exactly solves problem?. FB doesn't require any such, you block the offender and move on. No kids safe content or no kids safe mode on hive either.
I think comparing hive with FB or any other nonblockchain social media wont be fair to both sides. As much as we can be optimistic about HIVE, some social media sites are getting in depth for privacy and safety problems and solving it lot better than blockchain based social media.
People can raise a proposal to have that feature included.
I came for the crypto, and I stayed for the independent spirit as demonstrated by the break from Steemit. Being censorship-resistant is important, and more so for a decentralized social media site.
Personally I try to stay in my lane, but I like knowing that if I decide to switch to a different lane I still have a forum to express other views.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
It's not censorship resistant though it's just more in line with actual life. If someone acts like an idiot in life you can't go end them that is illegal. Similarly on this platform people's accounts won't be suspended or removed but individual posts and rewards will be removed to discourage bad behaviour. Just like in real life, if you don't play by the rules everything will be bad.
What are the rules? Dpos with elections sets them from the majority of the community.
Hive Block Chain is life and accountability and reputation is brought into it. A great system.

It seems the Leofinance mobile application had a big time switch.
The IOS version ran into issues with Apple and was resubmitted. In the meantime, progress was made on the Android version and that might be available next week.
We will see what happens.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
These things happen in development.
Just gotta be understanding and stay patient.
The app is coming!
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Oh I wonder why Apple had issues. Maybe they didn't like blockchain tech.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
iOS app approvals are tight and they always do this until you follow all their guidelines. They often take decent enough time to approve and I will not be surprised to see the android version first.

Question. Is there anything you do in everyday life to reduce your bills or have any form of routine that helps with finance?
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Socking away USD 5 a day (plus the spare change that's in pockets, including dollar coins) is helpful, especially for handling regular expenses such as phone bills and laundromat machines. Making different decisions about eating habits helps also, but that's easier said than done.
Walking to a destination instead of taking mass transit helps in saving money, but that's if you stay local (within 3 miles/5 kilometers).
If you're in the habot of going to the movies weekly and buying food at the concession stands, one of the following can help keep money in your pocket longer:

At some point people are going to wake up. They do not realize how stupid they are being.
The biggest fight over the next few years is going to be over data. We are going to see a massive amount of development that helps to fight the control state.
They do not realize how far they are pushing things. There are millions of people around the world capable of developing. We are already seeing them spread into different areas and generating a ton of software.

I would have to kind of agree. If you remove encryption, then there won't be whistle blowers. This means we will never know until after the fact and they can control everything from the narrative onwards. I hope technology keeps surpassing what the governments can control.

Tonight I went to Tribaldex to pur money into the SWAP.HIVE:DEC liquidity pool.
When I had only SWAP.HIVE but 0 DEC, the {ADD LIQUIDITY} button was diabled for me. The button was disabled for me when I had DEC but SWAP.HIVE was at 0.000. Even when I had a 50/50 split between SWAP.HIVE and DEC the {ADD LIQUIDITY} button was diabled.
There must be a detail or two I am missing that's keeping me from using the {ADD LIQUIDITY} button. Either that, or Tribaldex is broken (and the empty FAQ section doesn't help).
Is Tribaldex the only place where I can add HIVE or Layer 2 tokens to a liquidity pool, or is there an alternative I can use?
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
In order to add liquidity, you need to have a similar value on both sides. So if you want to put in 1k DEC, you have 500 DEC and 500 DEC worth of HIVE. It's the reason why when prices change, your tokens will move along with it causing impermanent loss.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
I was on the right track when I went for the 50/50 split between SWAP.HIVE and DEC. My problem was UX.
I saw the drop-down list for selecting the pool, so I chose SWAP.HIVE:DEC
What I didn't see was where to enter quantities of the Base Token (SWAP.HIVE) and the Quote Token (DEC).
It's true that zeroes were placed where the quantities are to be entered, but there was no indication that the zeroes were in data entry fields.
Also, the word MAX appeared twice (once for each token), but it wasn't obvious that they were clickable elements which filled the field with whatever the maximum token values were.
Once the zeroes were replaced by quantities, then the {ADD LIQUIDITY} button was enabled for me. I was able to add to the SWAP.HIVE:DEC liquidity pool.
While it's true that all the answers were in front of me on that screen, the user interface elements are not obvious to the uninitiated. For a data entry form that's on a web page and not a VT-100 terminal screen, the form is badly designed.

The Splinterlands Tokens post I had promised will be postponed a bit. I need to make a post about my experience with the diesel pool at Tribaldex first, then I need to organize the Splinterlands post.
