RE: Now this is a good selling point for HIVE!

There's a risk of people taking such a pitch for a scam.

If you go around telling people you need "just a little bit" of HP before you can earn meaningful rewards from liking, then you are actually not telling the truth.

If you want to earn from curation, you need to earn quite a lot of author rewards or buy a quite lot of Hive Power first.

I think it would be perfectly fine to tell people that HIVE is a cryptocurrency that you can lock into voting power (Hive Power) that allows you to have a say on which posts get rewarded on a content delivery/social media platform called Hive and that you get rewarded for voting on posts, too. And that the better you predict which posts will become popular, the more you can earn by upvoting them early. That's the exact truth about how Hive Power works. Hive is a social media where the monetary side of things is peer-to-peer, too.

Sure. The point was that perhaps selling that side of the equation might be a better approach than selling the content creation side... or perhaps not, though we have tried the latter for years now with a terrible retention rate.

I seriously think there's something wrong with humanity because the earn from content creation hasn't been an immediate hit. I've come to believe I've grossly overestimated by fellow human beings. Perhaps Hive should be wrapped around a centralized layer to make the experience deliberately worse to make it more palatable to the average person. I don't mean worse in terms of visual appeal and all the bells and whistles on mainstream platforms. I'm talking about launching perhaps a tipping app based on Hive that can be used to tip authors on centralized platfroms. Oh wait, such an app has been recently launched: Hive Tips. :)

Yea I agree with you there... I thought once people heard you can earn from posting they would be breaking down the doors signing up... I am surprised it hasn't caught on more.
