RE: HBD.Funder Spam Comments Earned 1,439,172 Hive in 2021 (and they only started on March 21st)

That's cos you read other posts by other people or browse the trending tag like other people... normal people.

It's not actually that hard to Hive as we know but it's a nice narrative to paint when you are smearing.

Sort:

They'll complain about the trending page, but they won't look at it. How does that even work?

Hmmm...

~daydream sequence~

"We're going bring back complaints from 2017 and use them in our smear campaign this month. All in favor?"

"Me!"

"We're going to ignore all recent developments that were pretty much designed for us and meet our demands like the new VYB downvote free platform in order to make it appear as if we're still stuck in the steem ages. All in favor?"

"Me!"

"We're going ignore platforms like PeakD and all it's advanced features that make browsing and discovering much easier and pretend like we're on Steemit listening to Ned play guitar and comb his hair. All in favor?"

"We miss you Ned!"

"Alright. We got a big day today. Something nobody knows will be revealed and everyone will be in shock. They'll be calling us heroes for sure this time! Now get out there and act normal."

"Yes Sir!"

Hmmm. Nah. That couldn't happen...
Or could it...

Dude. I have too much free time today. -45 C outside can you believe that? I must have brain freeze again.

I am gonna rage quit and say it's the platform's fault for not making everyone agree with my anti-vax FWIENDS!!

Lolol.

That is hard to believe man, I could not live at that temperature. We are having Thundersnow tonight. That will be nice, maybe

It's something I think everyone should experience. Was -50 with the windchill. Your skin can freeze in two minutes but if you know how to dress for it, the air is so nice to breathe. Doesn't get any fresher especially when way out in the middle of nowhere.

WTF is thundersnow? I think I've heard thunder once in winter, while snowing, in March. Blew my mind. Didn't know that could be a thing.

We had it last year, it is a little less dramatic than it sounds. Basically lots of snow with thunder going on. Its odd because the thunder is a little different sounding but that's about it. I like it though!

That does sound crazy. I do like the cold crazy weather although I think the worst I have experienced is minus 16 or something close. And that was freak occurrence!

Even the west coast got hit with snow! That's rare. See any news about the floods out there in Canada? I was there.

Funny we're talking about weather LOL

When the weather is more interesting than the post you are commenting on is a bad day, lol!!

-50 is certainly cooler than this post.

That's cos you read other posts by other people or browse the trending tag like other people... normal people.

Considering most everyone in here agrees that trending is full of mostly over-rewarded shitposts... I don't think most ever go there. Especially not when most of Hive's users live on L2s like splintertalk, oneup, [the now defunct] naturalmedicine and proofofbrain - that often aren't tagged in those posts.

Or... maybe someone wasn't online for the one or two weeks where this was being discussed?

I know I, personally, have never looked to trending for content, I might skim it to see if there are important updates there, but it's mostly FB-friendly content.

Yup. Well done Kenny. Just keep knocking those folks down.

Classy.

People come to this platform and post. I don't necessarily enjoy everything, either. I'd say that's normal. But these content creators don't have control over whether or not they have a successful day. I've seen some great stuff up there. I look every day and browse as part of my routine. If someone gets up there honestly for doing a good job, they should not be made out to feel bad or embarrassed for it. Genuine success stories here should be celebrated. That does occur, quite often. These bad attitudes do nothing to boost morale. It's sickening already. Getting the evil eye for doing good? Think about that at least.

How can you complain about trending content, saying it's overrewarded shit, then complain about downvotes being used on overewarded content? Make up your mind. I don't want to see good stuff get downvoted after those folks tried because people like you are complaining.

You're throwing everything and everyone under the bus. Contradicting yourself nonstop while you smile and hold up a peace sign. Come on dude. You can do better.

Considering most everyone in here agrees that trending is full of mostly over-rewarded shitposts

That's also because most whales don't care at all about what they upvote (not to mention what they produce themselves), instead of that they do a fully automated 'upvoting service' of two-image-shit-posts (and at the same time flag "over rewarded" posts from other users). You had a discussion here with my 'best friend' @themarkymark who complained he wouldn't find enough posts worth to upvote ... well, who just doesn't seek, doesn't find, lol.

Opogie googie muncha nuda tu

Hast du eigentlich mittlerweile Schachspielen gelernt?

Most of us don't. You know that, I know that. But as you say, most of us skim it for anything that might be pertinent to current thinking or for anything vaguely not shitposty. ie, stuff about the platform or mechanics that are being discussed to control stuff about the platform, like the pegging of HBD.

So no. We don't go there for content as a rule but it's worth a skim to keep up to date with what's happening. And you know that and you admit you do it. Just not enough in this case. It was more than a week or two, I would say it was a raging hot topic for a while.

I'm not judging. We all take time out. But it wasn't some minor thing hidden away.

So back to my point. Whilst trending is renowned for not being where people look for content. Most still skim it to see what happening. Even those who use L2s as is apparent by their sudden appearance on trending topics.
