Pretty quickly after I started experimenting with crypto back in 2017 I found myself on Steem. I loved being part of the community and loved to learn about everything discussed there. Hence I bought my first few packs of Splinterlands cards. The alpha packs, that is.
I didn't know what I was doing really. I still don't. But after owning the cards for a while and trying to rent them out unsuccessfully, I sold all of them. I never really took the effort to learn how the game works. Little did I know where Splinterlands would be today.
Few years forward... After having lost interest in (now) Hives and everything around it, I recently started to spend time on it again. Reading, writing some posts, learning about all the improvements that came during my time off. Quite a lot actually! I also finally took the time to play some Splinterlands.
I started accumulating a few cards and realized while looking at the cards on the market, that I effectively said no to a massive opportunity back in 2019!
Those cards I would have had if I didn't sold them off, would be worth a fortune!

If one wants to get a pack of alpha cards nowadays, the ask price on hive-engine is about 450 dollars. The price of the cards combined could be even greater! I owned about 5 packs in 2019...

You can imagine I feel a bit stupid. I learned it the hard way. Probably many of you with me in one way or another.
My best advice, never sell all of your holdings. Whatever it is. You never know what's coming :-)

You are right. I HODLed a bit of Bitcoin dust worth $ 0,25 I collected a few years ago with Bitcoin faucet Freebitco.in and it is now worth about $ 100,-
