Happy Christmas Hive community and I hope all of you're having a wonderful time.
Sometimes, being involved with crypto feels like it's Christmas every day. I'm learning to stay calm with my crypto journey and thanks to my valuable crypto experiences with Steem and Hive.
I'm certainly someone who truly belives crypto is a positive sum game and genuinely contributed towards crypto mass adoption.
Most of us are going back to our families for Christmas, and there is great chance we end up meeting with nocoiners during this festive period. Today I had an opportunity explain the use cases of Bitcoin to one of my uncle. After few minutes of explaining I realiesd that he was not keen, So I decided not to explain further. Maybe he is at age where crypto might be bit too complex to understand.
Very difficult to discuss crypto gains with people who don't even really understand the significance of inflation.
Also today, I met with couple of my cousins and they were very keen to learn more about after my initial introduction. I can't wait to get them onboarded with crypto sooner than later. At the same time, I'm confident that their curiosity will make them self educate themselves about crypto.
One of the benefits of being curious is that you never get bored, whether alone or with other people. If you’re truly curious, there are an infinite number of things you can try, learn and build.
Actual question is whether it's good idea to discuss your crypto gains at the Christmas family dinner. I know most people have enjoyed massive gains with ongoing crypto bull run and some of them find it quite hard to openly talk about it. In my personal view it's in our own interest to talk about our crypto gains in order to make your family member to invest with crypto. I don't do push anyone to get involved with crypto like I used to do but I'm willing to fil anyone who is curious about Crypto.

Pretty hard for me not to bring up crypto this Christmas. My grandparents wondered why they will no longer be able to come visit me at my job. That was a tough thing to explain. I’m pretty sure they have no idea what I do still, but they at least believe in me to do great things. Hopefully that is good enough for them to not stress over my financial stability. I’ve at least got my brother familiar with the term Web 3.0 now. I really wish he’d start asking me questions about crypto.
One person at a time we can together spread Web3 and crypto

I talk to my family members living outside the country. And, had made them invest as well. They are quite busy but have made them hold some Hive.
Everyone is not ready. While I constantly have to make them beleive we are in initial phase and they kind of think its no good long run. I have made them feel wrong as I have got them some great profit. But, now as I keep insisting, they are calm and kind of busy on their own research regarding blockchain. Slowly, the space getting bigger.
However, most of the time they are so drived by return, they end up investing on some "shit" coins. I think this trap for new user will always be there. That I prevent them about.
To ones who I have to make beleive every seconds, I move out of conversation these days. Then they end up asking "Can I buy at this price now?" When it hits 2x/3x. Again, the same story continues. Lol.
So, Time will tell them the story, I keep in conversation who sounds interested.😃
Investing in Shitcoins is a valuable experience for anyone. lol
As long as we’re having a conversation about crypto with our friends and family it’s a positive thing in my personal opinion.

True. I cant stop my urge to talk most of the time. It just comes within. Also Its kind of journey of hopes and belief. Feels good to have the conversation(most time)😃
I think for me I'd rather let them see the freedom side of crypto as well as the gains, yes we all need those financial gains but there's more to crypto than the gains, I am so hooked on the empowerment crypto and blockchain gives me...
I will say its a good idea to discuss crypto over Christmas dinner/lunch but hey we can only share, we can't control their keenness.
I was on the phone with a friend in Germany just now and he is determined not to no about Bitcoin so I stopped... lol

I would only talk about it if they are already into crypto. That way you can all have fun talking about gains.
Otherwise, keep quiet. Envy is a horrible thing when it rears it's head within families. Also what if your family decides to invest just before the bear market starts? You'll get blamed.
Most of the time we will get blamed either way. My friend told me why I didn't tell him harder in 2018 about crypto. Luckily now he is onboarded with crypto now :)
There shouldn't be any envy when we genuinely want to see our friends and family be wealthy.

Most of aged people that think they are doing good are always sceptical about investing in cryptos. They have lived decades of their life believing the traditional system.
Well, I think the only way to get people to join the crypto sphere is to discuss the gains. Because when u tell them about it, they would ask for proof. However you can limit the details.
Exactly. That’s the main reason why my uncle was not interested curious about crypto conversation

My dear friend I also believe crypto like you and I have been with crypto for many years , of course you know that because you are my old friend. I have had many kinds of experiences from here. Of course we should discuss these experiences with everyone.
But sadly, I haven't told anyone in my family about it yet and they don't want to believe it. So I have been reluctant to talk to them again and again.
I got a lot from here and I know that there is something better waiting for me in the future from here. Anyway my dear friend wish you a Merry Christmas and share how you spent your day today.
Happy christmas
Me too!
I'm so thankful and appreciate our Hive global community.

WEB 3 = HIVE = 🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀
I talked about my Hive earnings and about my HBD savings with my brother yesterday. Not at the family dinner, but when we met in the afternoon. My brother left the Steem/Hive blockchain years ago, but even he found it surprising the fact that I earned more than $400 USD with Hive in the last 30 days.
Actually I checked it now, and according to HiveStats, I earned $520.92 USD.
I am very grateful and very happy for all the help and support I receive. Thank you so much.
Merry Christmas to everyone.
Have a nice day and have a nice weekend.
All the best. Greetings and much love from Hungary.
I'm genuinely happy for you :)
Hive is a life-changing crypto!

My personal experience about crypto talk with the close ones was a bit strange during Christmas time. A few became aware of the potential of gains within this “new” market, but what they see right now is the possibilities of gain. They don’t even want to look further and understand the chains, what are they for, how do them work, the concepts and usecases. This is kind of a dumb behavior, amd what they are doing right now is just gambling. So far they are positive since they get on the train, but the further outcome with this level of understanding is questionable. It’s not enough to get on the train, you should know the direction where it is going. I think it’s important to educate them, but feels so hard to get through their ignorance.
Merry Christmas and may there be a million more gains to come!🎄💝🎄

Merry Christmas to you and family. Very few times I too tried to explain about cryptos my friends using my little bit experience. I saw they were not interested about it like you this time. I believe crypto is positive sum game, I'm really happy to joined that game already.
Sending you and your family well wishes and praying for you in the coming year 2022!

It is like anything I enjoy. I don’t bring it up but will happily talk about it if someone else does. I have enough friends in crypto and would prefer to learn all I can from the community. Preparation for early majority and helping people onboard in whatever application suits them.
Merry Christmas old friend!
It's a blessing :)
Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas Nathan. Wish you and your family all the best.
Merry Christmas Captain!
I hope 2022 brings you and your family lots of love, laughter, and joy.

I do my best not to say too much in family gatherings. I just mention one or two things and only talk to those who are already in it and already understand. Mainly because it's either they don't care, they care but they only want massive gains within a short period which I can't assure, or they think it's too much complicated. There's also the possibility of envy.
So many people want to get rich quick with crypto!
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
That's true. But if I introduce them and it dips or something like that I get the blame.
Crypto is not for everyone atm. We just have to accept that.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
True!

I got 1 or 2 questions, but I found that the hype wasn't really there like it was in previous years.
Maybe this shows where we are in the bull/bear cycle and that we are nowhere near the top.
That's how I'm looking at it anyway haha.
Merry Christmas :)

Christmas family dinner with no crypto question is better than 2.
Someone should host a crypto dinner show with LeoFinance once a month to answer crypto questions from our community.
Merry Christmas :))

Yeah, of course!😉
Hope will be great!!💪💪💪
I told my family about bitcoin a few years ago. They thought it was dangerous and tried to get me to sell.
Then when the bear market of 2018 happened, they said, "See? You should have sold".
Now you can tell them, I told you then and now have fun staying poor.

I hope you discussed a bit about the crypto on the eve. I am still reluctant to discuss about crypto with my family members. Specially parents, because they won't understand what I will be talking about.
My friends have started to know about cryptocurrencies a bit now in 2021 while I was telling them about bitcoin since 2017 but they thought I am just talking about some matrix or MLM thing. Anyways, they have started to know about crypto now which means the work is getting spread well.
I am not telling anything.
Only my Uncle and I chat a bit about crypto, but not much.
When/If I talk to my parents about it, I call it "magic internet money" since they don't care about it xD
When talking to my friends, all they say is sell and fuck that xD
Many don't understand the language we speak and eventually crypto is something that no one can ignore like the internet.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Yes 100%
I understand my parents don't care right.
But my Frienss who is a few years younger than me? I don't get it x)
I've brought it up, but it's hard for me to explain because sometimes I feel I don't fully understand things.
I should come up with a layman's elevator pitch for moments that present themselves.
Enjoy your Merry Christmas!
No intention to stay poor wohaaahaa !PIZZA
Instead of remaining poor, I want a world where everyone should get atleast 2 times food and have shelter, that can only be done through crypto.
Imagine crypto powered universal basic income! And it would be 1000 times better than what corrupted governments looking after their people.

Marry Christmas 🎄
Happy Christmas Dude!

Thank you!
Most people that are not involve don't have the mind to take risk and are not ready to lose anything.
I think it's a good thing to do has people tend to be more attentive in gathering like that. For me, I just make a hint about it and see if they're opened to it or they see what I see. I don't push either, I just throw it at them.
Presently, all of my family members know I'm all into crypto and there won't be a way to possibly finish the Christmas talk without encouraging one or more persons to buy in.

We're extending our crypto family!
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
I dont bring anything up ever. Most people cant wrap their head around it so not even worth trying. Anyone who asks what I do I just answer “I manage investments” and just leave it at that
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Eventually, everyone will be forced into crypto whether they understand or not
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
I hope so (I was that guy asking people if they accept bitcoin back in 2013), but lots of people will be VERY upset lol
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
As long as it is honest and open discourse! Merry Christmas!!!
I’ve tried for years to talk about silver and gold. No one cared. Trying to talk crypto would like me talking another language.
We crypto people, speak a different language that the majority of people don't understand.

My brother and I are continuing to buy some HIVE, and dreams are the most beautiful.
Have a !PIZZA
Web3 Hive is where I'm placing my bet too!

Happy Christmas my friend

I don't think I will say anything unless it comes up as a topic.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Hope someone in your family start the crypto conversation!
Merry Christmas 🎄
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Unfortunately nobody brought it up. So maybe next time.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
One of those things that stop many people from joining crypto is fake news and sharing your experience give them better view of bitcoin.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
I'd most likely get blank stares from them if I do...
lol
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
I think it is hard to explain cryptos to the people especially over a certain age :)
