Sorry to hear about your laggy MacBook.

I sold my old MacBook for £400 few months back to become debt free. Then when I was able to buy a new one by saving money from my pay checks. If your computer is working fine except this VR thing then you probably don’t need a replacement. I guess only you know the answer.
