Imagine being told or believing all your life that you are special but when thrown into the world no one even gives a shit about you. This is commonplace among talented people and the leading cause of their anxiety and depression.

Yes, I have experienced this to some degree I have also realised that you don't need to be special to make your impact on the world and it doesn't have to be the world in the literal special but your sphere--family and community

Actually we are seeing ways to reach more people due to the internet. Take Hive, a single upvote to a person in the right country could have a serious impact.

I agree. We need to normalize being normal. We don't need to be special.

It is difficult to control narratives and it is best to seek the least amount of validation from the world. And if you do have some people who appreciate your work and personality, that is a win.
