My NFT story: The Scams, Hype and Sheer Luck!

I wish I knew Larva labs and the likes back then.

Yet, I still can't forgive myself that I had been into crypto when crypto Punks were given our literally for free to some poeple. Perhaps I could have bought it super early before Ethereum gas fees becomes a menace.

Presently, only a handful of people could buy crypto Punks, even the commonest and rareless ones are beyond my reach. And I know many too.

Sadly, right now the nosies on the NFT space is could make you make some blunders like I have done recently. I mean, the screenshot is one of my NFT collections and it's one of the most expensive considering the minting price. Yet, the NFTs I got as giveaways or gifts are worth something over that Angry Boar.

NFTs are a massive investment with thousands and millions of dollars in Return if you are strategic and you did an excellent research before aping in. I did my research but not to details with the angry Boars which is causing me some kind of anger.

Nosies as I mentioned above made me picked a wrong NFT collections, I could have gone into several others and have my investment giving some joy by now.

Another one is from the Soldiers of Metaverse collections, a one time Marvel specialist set it all up and I felt it would be good to ape in. This time, I couldn't afford to mint more than one after my blunder on the Angry Boars which I stupidly minted two.

Maybe I have gotten a few scammy ones too, cos noises once again tricked me. It was one of the Board Apes clone, which is very much a problem if you do not know the authentic collections.

However, I have been lucky quite a few times too. The most expensive in my collections was a gift sometime last year, in fact its a rare one on Rarible and I still don't know what price tag to put on it. But I know it's in the region of 50 ETH upward lol. That should cover for most of my losses I hope.

My Gem

Once you can master not letting the hypes and noises of a new project sway you, and you could find fundamentals in a new collection, then you could just go ahead to bag some cryptopunklike gems for NFT collection.

To be honest, minting new NFTs sounds like fun and cheap, but then there's a whole lot of opportunities and wise investment plans in buying at floor rates.

Reason is, you can find out about the rarity of what you are buying at floor price. And you would definitely encounter paper hands that would sell off a newly minted NFT just to scalp off some gains. That's the beauty of buying the floor over minting.

In the end, financial plans comes in different forms and so is the harsh financial lessons. Falling for NFT scams is one of those harsh lessons. But your investment could bring maximum yields if luck is in your favor together with top notch research before getting into a new NFT projects.
