Reddit Views Revisited (Did Our Numbers Improve)

in LeoFinance13 hours ago (edited)

Three Weeks Ago

Three weeks ago I created a post titled Reddit Views vs. Hive Blockchain Views (Lets Run Some Numbers). Inside that post I detailed my views for specific Hive Blockchain content I shared on Reddit. I then compared the Reddit Views with views shown on PEAKD. The purpose of this experiment is to get an idea on the percentage of click-through I get from Reddit to Hive. There is multiple issues with this experiment because not all my views go to PEAKD. Some go to Hive.blog and others to Inleo. However its the PEAKD numbers that we have so that is what we will work with. Another issue with the end number is some views here on the Hive Blockchain weren't gathered from click-throughs. Either way I want to see the percentages so I can then work on increasing all numbers. Lets take a look at the old numbers and compare them to today's numbers. We have four posts to compare. Posts that in some combination or another were shared using Hive.Blog or Peakd URL's on either r/splinterlands and/or r/hivenetwork. The posts in question and view table can be seen below. All four posts are gaming posts created about either Splinterlands or Arcade Colony.

An unexpected surprise

I intended on doing the Peakd Views list again with new numbers displayed recorded on 10/13/25 similar to how I did for Reddit views but unfortunately the numbers did not change. This doesn't mean no added views or click-throughs happened as Peakd rounds to the nearest 10 when counting views which is fine to do. What it does mean is not many click-throughs happened. Most who viewed my shared Hive content on Reddit simply read the snippet I left there without clicking and visiting the Hive Blockchain. The question now becomes how do I get them to visit us here on Hive? I don't have the answer yet but I will give it some thought. For now lets keep going over these numbers to see our final results. My reblogs on the shared posts also seem to be below my average. Not overly important to the experiment here but does hold some weight. Reblogs can add to the view count of posts created here on the Hive Blockchain.

My Thoughts on these numbers

I'm not very happy with them. In total we managed to get 3477 views between Reddit and Peakd on a total of four posts. I also don't like that these numbers clearly show my click-throuh percentage from Reddit to Hive views are horrible at best. Also slightly surprising to me is my least viewed post is the post titled [SPS Stake Holders]. To be fair mentioned post was shared only on r/splinterlands while two of its counterparts where shared to two Reddit Communities. If I were to guess before running this experiment I would have picked that one to be at par with the rest. Bringing me to my next point: The other three posts all managed to get very close to the same amount of total views; just over 1000 each. I put very little effort into advertising these posts but here is what I did do. () I shared them on reddit () I shared some if not all in discord channels. I did have a plan to go all out with my advertising skills to see how many views I can bring to a-stand-alone post but I didn't get around to that yet. We will do that in our next and final installment of this little and very flawed experiment that is views minded. Other considerations: these 4 posts are not done getting views yet. The least oldest of the four posts is about three weeks old. The oldest of the four posts is about a month old as of the date 10/13/2025. What I did like is that my last post titled [A hive based mobile first website] managed to 3X in view count when compared to the views recorded on 9/22/25. That's it for now. Thanks for reading. We hope to see you at our next post.

What Is The Hive Blockchain?

----------------------> As defined by @rentmoney
It's many things including but not limited to: A source for information. A host spot for many play2earn games. A place to build your own business. A place to run a blog account. A place to interact with your online friends. A place to expand your knowledge. Your imagination is the limit to what the Hive Blockchain has to offer and could be to you. Creating and curating content on the Hive Blockchain will give you the opportunity to earn the Blockchains main currencies known as Hive and HBD (Hive Backed Dollars). No financial advice has been given in this post. Do your own research before investing/ spending any of your hard earned currencies.

As a redditor expert sharer I can tell you that hive/splinterlands subreddits won't bring you much views simply because people there already know hive and more or less the people posting... You gotta share out of those sub. Look at my hive share

17k and that's small for me

Nice, congrats.

I never attempted to build a WEB2 following. Most times I didn't care enough about my personal web2 accounts to even remember my password. I have managed to hit 15K+ a few times on past accounts. Below is a screenshot of a post that generated 2.7K views in 20 minutes. The post got removed about 30 minutes into it because it was link leading to my blog. If I remember correctly it was at 6.7K at time of removal. I agree about the hive reddit sections. Thanks for the advice.

Oh I don't try to build a web2 following either, just promoting hive around 😅

Yes a lot of subreddits don't like blog links, you need to find the right ones that accept it

It is great that you are monitoring the views you are getting from other websites

Amendment:

Hive base app view count on Peakd is currently 20+ not 10+. So we did double our PEAKD views on that specific post compared to when first reported.
