If, say, the USA and the EU, banned the trading of crypto for fiat and made it illegal, it would destroy the market for all crypto. Institutions would be completely gone from the space. Crypto would dealt with a severe blow and space would be forced to go underground. It wouldn't disappear but the industry would be back to where it was in 2012 or 2011.
