I haven't used the LeoFinance front end to post for a while, but I thought today being LPUD was a good opportunity to check it out, now that things should have settled back down after the move to new (and ever evolving) interface!
I've got some more LEO in the LEO-BNB pool on Cub, can't even remember how much, a few thousands maybe, old school!
I think I had 40K LEO once upon a time, but some of that went to Cub and PCub, bad moves, some went to Splinterlands stuff, not so bad moves.
Either way, it feels now like 40 or 50K is VERY attainable and that's what I'm angling towards, but, you know me, SLOWLY SLOWLY, i've never been one for large purchases.
Nearly 26K Leo brings me in $5 a month in curation returns, so I'd only need...
- 100K for $20 a month
- 1M for $200 a month and so
10M would yield me a living wage.
As I said, slowly slowly!
Thoughts on the LEO FINANCE front end now...
Overall I think it looks pretty good from a new user perspective.
I personally am not a fan of short form content, but I get this is more popular than long term I think it makes sense to have threads as the main presentation.
Initially I thought 'why is the sign in bottom left, but then I guess the usual place top right is for the new sign ups which makes sense....
One possible improvement...
Have a joint box top right for both sign in and then 'login' - same button styles, just with the sign in below the the sign up.
That would give the 'we're all this together feel' and just looks more natural I think.
Once we're in....
For long form content....
Initially I thought 'the boxes are the wrong balance', personally I'd like the option to have the preview below the writing box, and to shrink the left hand menu, but actually as a first presentation the balance is nice.
And I like the left hand menu, there's about the right amount of options, any more I think would be too much.
It's about the right balance of 'clean'.
Two possible improvements....
- Allow for customisation of the box sizes.
- Maybe have an additional link to the LEO DEFI options to the left?
Oh, and I liked the font sizes of the writing too!
Final thoughts....
Overall I'm impressed, 9/10!

I used it last month for the first time because I had had problem with the front end. Unfortunately, I have just 300 LEO despite using leofinance tags in my posts about finance and HIVE.
Threads seems to be pretty popular, but it's still evolving. It's supposed to be able to just show them from people I follow, but that's not working. Ecency Waves is at a similar level of development. Not everyone wants to read or write long form posts, so we need a slice of that action.
It certainly adds I think - the short form content just not really for me!
Fair enough, but we need these options for those who like it. You can use Hive as it suits you.
I know - the more the merrier, I SAY!
