There's a few noble Hiveans, myself included, who have been receiving malicious DownVotes from @stimialiti (aka @fersher) for ages now.
I can't even remember how this all began - probably they were a reward-pool milker (aka abusive poster) and we downvoted them entirely appropriately back in the day.
Usually such abusers react in one of two ways:
- They just stop, power down and disappear
- They stop abusing and start posting decent content/ spamming less.
However, with @stimialiti it's been different - he/ she has gradually been powering up and they seem relentless on continually DVing on the 6th day.
They haven't got a significant amount of HP, only around 500, which isn't enough to bother any of the people he/ she DVs, so frankly it's just bizarre.
I'm actually more concerned for their mental health than I am with the insignificant amount of Hive I/ we lose. To hold a grudge for that long is bad enough, but to hold a grudge and act on it, with that action having so little effect must be just a shit experience.
I mean, there's nothing positive about it, is there: being an impotent gnat, and knowing it too I imagine. It's like dwelling on your own misery, NOT GOOD!
They don't post these days AT ALL btw so there's no way of responding to this on-chain.
But @slobberchops and @steevc (also victims of the impotent gnat above) have now coded a bot which now runs on the @wanker account which auto upvotes any post @stimilati Downvotes - and if he/ she jiggles his/ her HP around then I guess the bot can easily be scripted to counter that too.
So now the effect of @stimilatis DVing will literally be 0, nada, nothing.
So finally, he/ she can just give it a rest because now there is literally no point carrying on with this kind of behaviour, we release you - let this go, and go be happy somewhere else instead!

It is borderline psychotic behaviour. I really don't care about the downvotes as they remove about 0.1% of my rewards, if that. He runs down his DV power to almost nothing. The new bot will actually more than compensate, so if he continues I will actually make more. So it's his choice whether he wants me to be richer.
I wondered if the increased $HIVE price might tempt @stimialiti to power down and cash out. I've seen him post more recently on St--m and he may be happier there as they don't care what you do.
Coding the bot was a bit of fun as far as I'm concerned.
I know what you mean, it's a weird thing to hold a grudge over, it's in his mental-health interests to let it go and just move on.

If he continues, we all get richer. It's his choice. There have been counter-bots on him before, @mathowl did one but he lost the code.
So @stimialiti, please keep up with the flagging. For one.. it gives me focus to tune the code better, and secondly.. you are paying me for those cheap McDonald's coffee's that make life worth living.
And there's nothing like the smell of cheap coffee in the morning!

Aren’t those bots? I also had for some time some accounts that automatically instantly downvoted anything I posted, they also had almost no HP and no reputation so it was harmless, but annoying.
Their consistency and perseverance made me think it can only be bots.
Why though? That I think I will never know…
I'm not sure if they are bots.... they don't DV everything I think they manually do it.
Also, if someone had the coding skills to run a bot, they'd have the mental capacity to think of something more useful to do with their time I think, at least I'd hope so!
Bot or not it's certainly bizarre. It's probably someone I know having a laff!
That always bugged me with my "bot theory", if they were auto upvotes it would make sense, to farm the curation rewards, but since they have no HP, no reputation (so can't do damage) and downvoting does not yield rewards, never understood the reason why to do it

I think it's a human. I get the DVs too and they are not on everything. It's not even a flea bite really, but he keeps on anyway. Needs to get on with his life instead of bearing a grudge.

There's so many weirdoes still roaming around this place. Someone preaching free speech and blaming me for being anti-free speech for a few downvotes I cast on some autovoted content creators who barely did anything other than drop their cross-posts here ran a campaign to unvote our witness, have people proxy their witness votes onto him + voting trails and delegations only to then later turn around and imitate someone with a profile pic and start downvoting random legit newcomers intro posts. How low can you go.

They probably just want to see Hive fail. That strikes me as the most likely explanation.
But to my mind it's one of things I kind of like about Hive - there are trolls on the internent - and it's all out in the open here, and it's up to us to deal with it - that's far better IMO than having Facebook employing a team to filter them all out in the name of 'protecting people'.

Yep, just mad they didn't get their way I guess and are now showing their true colors. They like to make noise about censorship when 99.999% of the time it's just about them wanting to leech more rewards for doing nothing in return. Wasn't even OCD newbies, just random newcomer intro posts.
As many many people have pointed out time and time again, DVing isn't censorship!
It wouldn't surprise me if they were just here to milk, it is the most common motivation, after all!
But honestly, they just need to let this go and find something more useful to do with their time!
You are so funny. But to be honest, normal people won't be able to understand irrational behaviour, so might as well humour ourselves.
We really get all sorts on Hive and some are not rational. All part of the freedom.
I'm not actually being funny, well almost not being funny - I mean I am also serious - dwelling on something so petit is bizarre, it's the kind of thing children do, or couples in bad relationships. Either way it's not a nice place to be!
