There's two things that have taught me about life - actual life, and Hive.
Are you ready for it?
Things go up. Things go down. Things go up. Things go down.
Maybe you are the kind of person that's always complaining that life isn't what you expected, or want it to be, and you forget to focus on the really good things around you, or just keep persisting until the really good things come back around. They always do.
This is definitely not a photo of a bear.
I don't get the complaining, because all you gotta do is buckle up and find joy in whatever circumstance you find yourself in, whether it's your own doing or someone elses.
And if you're bailing from Hive because the price has dipped this low (at the time of writing, it's $0.2059 USD) and moaning it'll never go up, and then come back when it starts to rise, sigh. It's a sure sign you're just in it for the granola. I find this kinda sad.
Having been here over seven years now, I am one of those annoying people that don't really look at the HIVE price - annoying, because you're probably thinking that this is an outright lie. Why would I stick around if there's no biscuits in it for me?
But there is. Plenty. In some ways I like it when the price dips as I can see everyone that's around for the long haul and get to chat with them more. And I love the enthusiasm of those that just buy more when it drops (me, I'm waiting for it to drop to $0.10 again, because I'm broke in real life) and see it as an opportunity.
Sure, Hive can be a financial investment, and if you choose to see it that way, and don't have time for anything else, go find another investment.
But there's sooo many other good things about Hive, like the friends you can make here, and how inspired you can get learning from people all around the world, and the support that you recieve in other ways, that I just don't identify with the bearish sentiments some people might have.
Personally, I loved it when it was around the .50 mark and would have been happy for it to hover consistantly around there, which it did, for a bit - and it will again. But I don't find the low price impacts my experience of Hive at all.
Hive goes up, Hive goes down.
I doubt it'll ever go to the highs of when it first started - I mean, why would it? It was super new and thrilling back then, and there's been a lot happen in the world of tech and cryptoin the last ten years. But think about that. I know good people here that have been there since the beginning - over nine years if we count it's inception as the Steem blockchain. And if they're still here, that says a lot. They're definitely not here only because of their financial investment.
Hive goes up, Hive goes down.
Like life, it'll always be here.
Just keep Hiving and shut up with ya bear growls.
With Love,

Amen. The price doesn't matter one iota. The community does!
As someone like you who's been around forever, I know you get it, and I'm preaching to the converted!
I like Hive. And I don't understand why people expect HIVE to grow forever. There are objective reasons why the token price is in a certain range.
I have 1150 HIVE now, half of which I bought. And I will buy 1 million HIVE, a little later - https://hive.blog/hive-180505/@urrirru/hive-is-my-strategy-for
I can't afford to buy much at the moment, but I will when I can!
My situation is a bit different. I have a lot of HBD now, but I will wait for HIVE price to go below $0.06. I think it will be a big bear market for SP500 and BTC.
I'm no maximalist, but I think you're going to have a LOOONG wait for Hive to get that low. It's never been below $0.10, and it has only seldom been below $0.15.
It's a bull market now and HIVE is at $0.20. What will happen to the top 300 altcoins if Bitcoin drops 2x and ETH 4x when the bear market comes? There will be new levels below.
That's a pretty big if, and Hive has already survived some pretty big pullbacks in crypto, without ever going below $0.10.
I couldn't agree more with this!
Personally, I LIKE it when the price goes down. It cuts back on both the simple, spammy reward farming posts, and the insanely upvoted "Hive to the moon!" posts. The content on this platform never looks as good as it does when the price is dropping.
I notice that my vote is worth more, or it is worth less. Then I glance at the price and understand why. That's it. I worry about people who need this coin to buy staples, but Hive for me is a community. As I look at my 'Follow' list and see names that no long blog, I feel a loss. I hope those people are OK, and I miss 'talking' to them. My daughter thinks I'm living an illusion :))
Oh yes I miss the people that have left... Well most of them.
MAYBE it's an illusion but I do think it's a nice one. It helps me a lot in so many ways. You get that, I know.
One of the more genius aspects of the Chain is the HBD saving accounts, in my opinion. If one is chasing the ROI how can you beat a 15% HIVE hedged investment? Still hard to match BTC's 81% year end return as of this writing though ya gotta love the hedge. π
Yeah that's huge hey!!!! So good.
I do check the price, but have no intention of leaving. I'm waiting for it to hit .75USD at least before I take anything out. I suspect it will be a long wait...
I had noticed I had fewer and fewer posts to read in the morning, I guess it's because of the price...
Yeah that's a sure sign for me too. I've been a little absent but because I've had a lot going on.

As a newbie and SPL player, I love when the price drops a little. Then I can buy some HIVE for cheap, and later convert it to SPL-Assets when the price goes higher again. If it does. Until now, that was the case. And if not, well I can always stake it and grow my influence & curation.
Besides that, it's really just numbers for me. It's fun to see them grow, and it does give an extra motivation to see a post being nicely rewarded, but it's not crucial. Overall, I think we'll see 50ct before we see 10ct.
We have seen both in last few years.... So i wouldn't be surprised at either. Someone needs to let me know when it hits 10 though so I can buy!
Noted! I'll spam comments like "Well here's my 10 cents on that topic..." on your posts when it comes to it.
The people are for sure what makes this place what it is! I do keep a fairly close eye on the price though.. because I get to buy more Hive with my HBD when it sinks a bit! I save my HBD for the fluctuations! :D
