Extracting value from your community has always been the way a lot of projects go especially with new projects. They come as something which is for the people but then in the beginning you can read them from afar what their intentions are.

Indeed, observing the intentions and actions of a project can provide insights into whether it genuinely aims to benefit its community or if there's a potential focus on extracting value. Transparency and community engagement are the keys
They come in and sweet talk you into joining their new project. They can sell to you unbelievable earning streams and at the end of the day, they just make money off of you. True intentions always get exposed one way or the other
