I was actually referring to CBN(Central bank of Nigeria) here in Nigeria.

There's currently a ban placed on cryptocurrency trading/transaction in Nigeria, thereby forbidding banks from any crypto related activity.

I missed that. How I wish there will be a change of mind sooner or later on the part of CBN once BTC gained popular adoption.

It sure has in the country.

According to our survey conducted in early 2022, 33.4 million Nigerians, which accounts for 35% of the population aged 18 to 60, currently own or have traded cryptocurrencies over the past six months

The issue there is the government are looking for ways to control this technology, but all their effort yield no result, so they choose the other way. Even with that p2p trading is much on the rise than ever before.

Let's hope we get a crypto-friendly president later in the future to help with the current situation.

Yes. The key is mass education. When the masses support an idea, no politician is courageous enough to contradict it. Not unless he or she wants to kill his/her political career.

!PIZZA

You are right.

We need the masses to be able to start thinking for themselves.

That way, we are more aware of what's going on and figure out what's the truth and what's not.

That's sad but I hope they will wake up one day soon and welcome crypto in your country.

I hope so too.

If not for p2p trading, crypto adoption would have been on hold after the ban.

It's a blessing in disguise for traders, but a loss on the government side. No tax or any form of charges from crypto trading, which can help grow the economy

I guess they are too old to understand what's going on.

Maybe one day they will open up their doors to crypto.

It's good that there is P2P so at least you can still trade :)

I hope so too. It might take some time, but it's worth the wait. Crypto is going to change the world Economy either we want it or not.

It's left for people yo chose when they want to get in, the early days or after mass adoption.

P2p has been a life saver

Yes, everything takes time and as expected, people shy away from change, even resist it but there is much hope in the future for crypto.
