The main issue es financial education. They put the candy in front of the eyes of people with not enough knowledge to realize they are overpaying for those products which most of the time they probably do not need. It is very sad.
Authorities prohibited tobacco and alcohol advertising long ago and tobacco packs now show all the healthy harm you get when smoking. At least people are aware of that and they can decide to live with it being aware of the health problems they may run into in the future. They should do the same with online casinos and betting companies. Next, at least they should force these "buy now pay later" companies to add all the costs consumers are paying when purchasing using those services, most of them are not even aware of that.
If I take advantage of an old person who doesn't have all of their faculties, I am breaking the law. They use psychological tolls that are beyond our comprehension - they are good marketers.
I would not call them good marketers at all. They take advantage of people, that to me, to say the least, is a thieve, But is the result of the society we live in, everything is valid to increase the benefits of P&L accounts.
