They put the candy in front of the eyes of people with not enough knowledge to realize they are overpaying for those products which most of the time they probably do not need. It is very sad.

I would not call them good marketers at all. They take advantage of people, that to me, to say the least, is a thieve, But is the result of the society we live in, everything is valid to increase the benefits of P&L accounts.
