Yeah, that's always the case. Then again, I can understand why Israel & USA don't want Iran to have the bomb. That kinda power should never be in the hands of fundamentalist nutcases.

If that’s what this was really about it wouldn’t have happened immediately after reports that some of the military started voicing opposition to their orders.

That's what it's all about. Israel wants to destroy Iran's nuclear facilities for good and overthrow Ajatollah Khamenei. They even had a plan to assassinate him but US didn't show the green light. For them, it's an existential threat.

If you believe everything governments and media say that’s exactly what it’s about

No, it's just the most logical argument. What reason would I have to believe otherwise? These things are based on probabilities, pure logic, not in a feeling or in something that we want to be true.

A country having enemies allows their govt to consolidate support among its own people and justifies expansionism. Eliminating all threats is often the stated goal of a country but this is never peaceful, and to truly eliminate threats is to become all powerful, to completely dominate in every sense . Also there is always far too much going on behind the scenes that I would never pretend to know for sure, So my understanding isn’t what I want to be true. Not at all in fact.

Now we're getting close to that conspiracy theory line! 😀 That is just pure speculation. The logical thought here would be Israel not seeking to expand cos they don't even share a border with Iran.

One might consider that the pursuit of harmony and the safeguarding of innocent lives should always remain at the forefront of any deliberation concerning such grave matters.
