When I worked in Japanese public schools some older men would brush their teeth between meals in the office. I always thought brushing teeth should be done in the restroom sink, and not in front of other people

Hahaha yes! Thats how I felt before. Now we do it around the house cause we don’t even have a proper restroom in Tokyo. Just a toilet room, a separate shower room and a sink outside, but I won’t brush my teeth when other people are here.
It’s kind of silly though. Why?
I mean Japanese people won’t blow their nose at the dinner table, they go to the bathroom to do it. These things feel pretty much equal to me, so why one not the other?

That conflict will start when China tries to go after Taiwan or if Russia actually attacks one of the Baltic countries.

Exactly. It would rather start with China/Taiwan or Russia testing NATO. In middle east, there's just not enough players and big players don't care that much. It's tested so many times and no WWIII.
Totally, but what this does is it makes a player like Russia more cornered, and we dont know what Putin might do if he feels really threaten.
I hope the west use this situation to put a lot more pressure on Russia.

In America it seems to be completely up to the person but we drive everywhere and invite people over for dinner more than spending time outside

God is referred to the rock / cornerstone all throughout scripture. Literally everywhere.
Catholics say Peter is the rock because Jesus says 'upon this rock I will build this church'....So why isn't the rock = Jesus.
From what I understand Jesus is the rock or cornerstone who was refused by Jews, or something like that. And then Jesus being the one we have as base, Peter is then "added" by Him to build His church. I don't know how to explain it well because I'm not an apologist haha. But that's basically how it is from what I learned.
Might be better to get answers from Catholic apologists online. Plenty of content that can answer your questions. 😉
