Slicing commuting time that much is a big deal no matter how much you earn. Together with 1.5x pay, that's terrific!
It really is a big deal! I'll actually be home every night now instead of the weekends only

That's about 6 hours, 15 minutes of time reclaimed each week. That's nothing to sneeze at. Even if you had to work extra time, the shorter commute makes the longer day feel not so bad. Sometimes the commute makes or breaks the job.
That's two major changes for good! Nice!!
